  1. Batting Order: Neifi Perez (SS) Jose Macias (CF) Derrek Lee (1B) Jeremy Burnitz (RF) Aramis Ramirez (3B) Michael Barrett © Matt Murton (LF) Ronny Cedeno (2B) Pitcher
  2. Wow! Curt Schilling got in an arguement?!? I am so surprised that he would do that. :)
  3. If you look at the other saber catagories, Neifi is a pretty bad offensive player. I'm just sayin'.
  4. Obviously not, since we are so far into the offseason and so many teams have made moves and Hendry is just screwing up left and right. Seems to me that are always going to be some people hoping for a bad offseason because they seem to get more enjoyment from ripping mistakes (real or perceived) by Hendry, Baker, etc. than they get when the team is succesful. Well..so far he screwed up to the left with the Rusch resigning. According to this article he is working on screwing up to the right as well. Wait to see what happens when he gives Macias a 3 year contract with an option. :( Btw, would you actually like this move? That's what this post seems to be implying. I think Rusch has been a useful arm for the Cubs the last couple season and that when all is said and done with FA signings around the majors the $3M will look like a reasonable deal. Therefore, I don't agree with your statement that he has "screwed up to the left with the Rusch re-signing". I don't see Neifi signed yet of for how much so I am not going to criticize him for a move he has not made. If he does sign him and plans for him to be the starting SS or 2B then I will heartily agree that it is a bad move. However, before I get on his case I need to see the whole offseason body of work and not just make knee jerk reactions to rumors from a dubious source. Well, he made 1 million this year and he thinks he deserves a starting job. That would probably mean that a two year deal would be something like 5-6 million dollars total.
  5. Willie, Ronnie, and Peyton. Atlanta's run defense stinks and Caddie struggled last week against the 49ers. Although, this was the report on yahoo:
  6. This is why I normally don't start threads.

  8. A TWO YEAR DEAL?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Somebody needs to slap some sense into Hendry...
  9. Speaking of Valentine, did anybody see this ridiculous article? Link
  10. Hey, he just robbed the Padres of a decent starter and money in exchange for a guy who stopped being good five years ago. Not a terrible idea. Although I can't believe they wouldn't at least entertain chasing Theo. This is the same guy that gave Christian Guzman a 3 year, 12 million dollar contact last year.
  11. I just heard a report on espn radio that said that the Dodgers want to make a run at signing Jim Bowden away from the Nationals. I just don't get it....
  12. There is going to be a breakdown on the bears in a couple seconds on playbook on the nfl network. They will replay the show later tonight if you miss it.
  13. Great post outshined. I agree with everything you posted, but there is one person I haven't heard mentioned yet. Scott Boras. Zambrano is a total stud and will command top dollar. I'm a little worried that the Cubs won't get a deal done with Boras, being that Zambrano would be a huge payday. Zambrano may be talked into testing the FA waters. At the same time, the Cubs have probably the best working relationship with Boras out of any of the teams. Everyone was afraid to take Pawelek because of Scott but we had a deal done by the time we made our 2nd pick.
  14. There is no way that I trade Carlos for any one player. It would take more than one for me to even start thinking about making a deal with him.
  15. An honest question more than a swipe at BA, but Billek made 8 starts at Peoria this year and put up the following numbers... 37.2 IP, 33 H, 6 HR, 10 BB, 25 K, 4.06 ERA If he's fully developed, shouldn't he have had a little less difficulty with HRs and Ks against Low-A ballers? I think he was saying that they were physically developed, not as pitchers. Also, BA didn't mention anything about them being fully developed.
  16. Throwbacks.... :( Not a fan. If they go with throwbacks they should use the ones from the 80s with the cursive Chicago across the front. Those are much better than the ones they use today. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000811OEM.01-AT26F6GZJEB06._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
  17. I still can't used to the introductions without MJ in there... :(
  18. Amazing how Z still doesn't get any respect. Shesh.
  19. In all fairness, if Carlos had made that behind the back between the legs toss to DLee for the out, I don't see any way Z wouldn't have won this award. That particular play would have been on highlight reels for decades to come, imo. Obviously you missed Z's summersault. Was that when he tried to slide? No, he was fielding a ball on the right side of the infield and sorta tripped and threw the ball and then did a summersault afterwards.

  21. Talk about efficient! Something tells me the Cubs loved that inning.
  22. That's what you get for having a Packer on your fantasy team. I made the same mistake with Ahman. :)
  23. So wait....paying 6 million plus whatever prospects it takes to get him for 1 year isn't overpaying for Pierre?
