  1. Why? He's been just as good as any of our options defensively and better than most offensively. Ideally he wouldn't be your everyday RF (which he still won't be) but he's done a very good job. Ward would get me nervous out there. DeRosa has proven that he can play a very good 2B, 3B and OF while having a good approach at the plate. He's quickly become one of my favorite players.
  2. Why in the world would you move him to first?
  3. So did they decide definitively that Blanco isn't having surgery this year?
  4. Simontacchi gets a big strikeout from Weeks. 2 outs, still men at 1st and 3rd, Graffanino pinch hitting for Suppan.
  5. DeRosa shifts to SS, Fontenot to 2B. It's worth a shot.
  6. I hope someone has the radio call of the walk-off. Unbelievable.
  7. Font is the man! Perfect time for you to show you still have some flex Derrek
  8. Honestly Bruce has no idea what his strike zone is at this point. This is getting ridiculous. You can throw a pitch in the same spot 8 times and it will be called differently each time.
  9. Froemming continues to change his strike zone throughout the game. Way to execute the hit and run Angel! Come on Fonso!
  10. Good work Michael. The guy hasn't taken a walk all year and you throw him 4 straight that aren't even close.
  11. Way to keep us in the game Billy. Hopefully Alfonso and Fontenot have better luck the 3rd time seeing him.
  12. No he's been pretty solid and I don't think he's showing any signs of injury. I'm just more concerned with the fact that when he doesn't have good command of his breaking ball or it isn't extremely sharp, he has nothing to fall back on. You do realize his start before the last is when SD took batting practice off him right? Yeah but his 5 starts surrounding that one were solid. But 2 of his last 3 have been horrible, so Its not far fetched to assume somthing may be wrong. True.

He's still a good pitcher, he just needs to find ways to fight through days like this.
  15. His lack of command today has been a bigger problem than his stuff. He's either missing by a wide enough margin that they aren't chasing anything out of the zone or he's hanging it.
  16. As bad as Rich has pitched today, he hasn't gotten help from his defense. Although I think much of that is due to the fact that they're standing for 5 minutes between having balls put in play.
  17. Theyre hitting fould balls because Rich's stuff just aint that good today. actually, if his stuff was really bad he'd be getting lined all over the park. Opposing hitters making weak contact and fouling balls back isn't indicative of a pitcher who doesn't have anything. Are you actually watching the game? Honestly. He is either leaving everything over the heart of the plate or missing by 2 feet. His breaking ball hasn't been very sharp and it's the reason they keep getting a bat on it. no i'm not watching it, i'm completely ignorant about what is going on You obviously are if you're watching this and think his stuff is good today. It's not and his control is worse.

  19. Hill still can't miss bats much or get a single quick out and is leaving everythng up. 1st and 2nd with 2 outs and Rich at 1,287 pitches through 1.2. At least our thin bullpen will be completely stretched for the series because of this.
  20. Wow look what happens when you throw strikes and keep the ball low.
