    Usually. I don't know the specific rules for this match but typically substitution rules are pretty relaxed in an int'l friendly. Also, somewhat awkward having Bruce Arena broadcasting the match.

    hmmm...pretty interesting timing with the cub convention starting tonight. i'd imagine it'd be good news so it wouldn't ruin all the fun and excitement of the weekend. if it was bad news, i'd guess they'd wait until next week to announce it (if possible).

    You can't really go by that. The Cubs odds are always inflated because so many fans bet on them that the sportbooks have to protect themselves against them actually winning. Very true, I was posting the facts of it. Even with the Cubs getting lower odds, they still aren't the favorite to win.

    how do you punt in that situation??? nfl coaches are so damn conservative. you have to give your team the best chance to win and andy reid did not do that.

    i've definitely got butterflies right now. a few thoughts... -if meatball bears fans boo rex for making a blunder in the first quarter i'm gonna be pissed. -the secondary needs to step up and play big. i've been down on d. manning for most of the season, but hopefully he's learned from his rookie mistakes (like constantly being out of position) and has a solid game. -its gonna be a close game with the special teams playing a big role in the outcome. bears 20 seahawks 13

    Honestly, I figured it would be more. You're asking an international superstar to come to a fledgling league in a country where soccer is little more than an afterthought. I think the contract will pay off for LA, and I'm already making plans now to fly to LA to see Becks play. I can't wait. I'd probably check out a Fire-Galaxy game, so they're already selling tickets. Where the hell is the Galaxy getting $250 million, is the MLS paying a huge chunk of it? Maybe Roman Abramovich is buying the Galaxy too.

    holy.... that's a ton of money. i never thought it'd be that much. that's insane. he better really sell a lot of tickets, otherwise this deal will be a disaster for the Galaxy and the MLS.

    Clint Dempsey did indeed get his work permit, so he'll be joining Fulham FC during January's transfer window. Also, David Beckham and Real Madrid can't seem to negotiate a contract extention past this season. The English papers and Sky Sports seem to think it's a lock that he's heading to the MLS. In fact, the oddsmakers have him at 3-1 he's heading to America to play. That's the odds on favorite. The LA Galaxy seem like the most obvious team for him.

    Its embarassing for everyone involved. The excitement is over after the first little fight, but they show more replays, scrums etc. afterwards.
