    I hope Blackpool bounce back up next year. If they can/did invest their tv money wisely, they should be in contention next year.     People used to be able to see the actual selection of the picks, such as with the Ewing draft lottery and it has since been moved to behind closed doors. That's added to the conspiracy theories as much as anything else. Put it out in the open, stupid people be damned. Besides, if the NBA actually wants an audience to watch the lottery, I'd imagine the actual selection would be much more interesting than how it is revealed now (widows, sick kids, god knows who else representing their teams).

    Again, there's no reason to have it done behind closed doors. People don't care than a reputable accounting firm is validating it, they want to see it for themselves(even though, it won't calm the claims of the lunatic fringe).

    There is no real good reason the actual draft lottery is not televised live. In a similar system, major soccer competition drawings are held on live tv to help avoid the allegations of fraud or misconduct. It avoids the bizarre conspiracy that inevitable spring up.

    Lombardi and La Confora on the NFL Network were earlier talking about the lockout preventing teams from signing FA non-draftees. The UFL and CFL will be more appealing for guys to sign with because it's a guarantee rather than waiting for the lockout to end and teams to sign those non-draftees.
