    I don't know if the Cubs ultimately will end up signing Epstein as GM but based on how this week has unfolded, I can safely say they are going to not going to hire one of the old retreads that had been thrown out earlier in the discussions such as Ned Colletti. Ricketts' apparent approach to Epstein has me believing he'll pursue a younger, SABR-inclined candidate.

    A friend of mine works at the same company that Steve Bartman does. He sees him around the building occasionally. He doesn't know him personally, but everybody at that he's talked to at his work place says that he's a great guy.

    The Fox broadcasters were so terrible that many people complained to the WGN Radio and they worked to sync their radio broadcast with what was airing on tv. People (my dad, I remember for one) watched the broadcast with the Pat Hughes and Steve Stone's call.

    RE: The holding call on Graham. The referee threw the flag based upon something that happened as the ball was in the air, it was not called on anything during the actual return by Knox. The flag was thrown earlier in the play than the announcers were acknowledging. That being said, I didn't see Graham hold anyone (the camera angles didn't help) as they were setting up their coverage during the punt.
