Last thing to leave a fighter is the power and by the looks of Mike's training videos from the last several years he's still got plenty of speed to go with it. He's honestly still an athletic freak for a man in his mid-50s.

Michael Buffer makes rare appearances these days. He was just at the Anthony Joshua/Daniel Dubois fight last weekend at Wembley. I would imagine it takes a pretty large paycheck to get him these days. Jimmy Lennon Jr. still frequently does fights. I envy you for getting to catch those eras of boxing as they happened. The fight game has absolutely been ruined by too many promotions, crooked judges, boxers who are too afraid to lose their "legacy" by getting in the ring with the other top fighters. Honestly, hats off to the women, because they are not afraid to make the big fights and go out there and lay it all on the line. I love the sport and have a lot of connections to it, but boxing will never reach the glory days again. One billion people watched the Rumble in the Jungle in 1974. That still blows my mind.
  3. Yea, I wasn't quite thinking that one through.
  4. As for me, I will dream that a package starting with Alcantara and Shaw can be a good start toward acquiring Logan Gilbert.

One of my good friends is making their MSG debut this weekend on the Sandy Ryan/Mikaela Mayer undercard.
  6. I missed the game because of work but saw the infield single. How did he look overall? Comfortable at the plate?
  7. Josh Allen looks like a new man without the diva Stefon Diggs.
  8. I'm happy to see Sam playing well after the career path he's been down.
  9. DJ Moore has always been that dude. One of my favorite players in the league.
  10. I can't speak for the rest, but Payton has let Nix play for better or worse. They aren't holding him back.
  11. That is some of the all-time worst redzone play calling I've ever seen.
  12. Williams to Kmet. Let's see it.
  13. This team reminds me a lot of the 2005-07 Hawks where they are in that weird transition period between full on rebuild and young, budding contender. The goal of this season isn't so much to take a big step as it is to change the culture to one of optimism for 2025-26. Maroon, Martinez, Foligno are the Lapointe, Aucion, Cullimore for this team. Guys brought in to inject the winner's mentality and provide leadership to a young group of kids. I have a feeling we will look back on this season as a really important step forward. The Hawks will finish below .500, but they're gonna be competitive every night.
  14. Foligno has pretty much been the acting captain since he arrived in Chicago. He's a tremendous dude to have around the kids. Whatever impact he has, especially on Bedard, will only be positive and help him when he eventually is awarded the "C". And the Hawks have the cap space anyway. Marty Lapointe played the same role pre-Toews. Seabrook and Keith spent a lot of time as Lapointe's teammates before Toews came in and took over the leadership role. Don't understate the importance of those guys around young players.
  15. I hate them both.

Plant/McCumby was the fight of the night. Top 3 fight of the year. I got big love for Caleb. He's a good dude.

    NFL Week 2

Bob Probert's wife talked about his experience with the effects of traumatic brain injuries shortly after his death. She said he could vividly recall games from years past but couldn't remember what he had for breakfast earlier that morning.

    NFL Week 2

I can't for the life of me understand why so many QBs fail to utilize the feet first slide. Maybe competitive instincts take over? I don't know. Tua is a great dude and I really want to see him do what's best for his health at this point.

I hope there are some other fans here. The undercard for Canelo/Berlanga tonight is loaded. Mad respect to all of the fighters for coming together for this one. Canelo hasn't knocked out an opponent since Plant three years ago although I believe he could have stopped Munguía and chose not to. I think he stops Berlanga tonight in the 8th. Also hoping my boy Rolly gets a much needed win tonight.

    NFL Week 2

Early slate sucks. SF/MIN and IND/GB. Gross.
  22. Joe Mixon with an old school bell cow line of 30 carries for 159 yards and TD.
  23. Seeing Kerry at Wrigley will never not give me the feels.
  24. Seems as if every time I have a free schedule and an opportunity to watch a full game its Assad on the mound.
