  1. That is sort of a strength of our manager though, right?
  2. Do we need to define the word “interest” for these conversations? 😆
  3. You’d think Mayo would be on the block now for sure.
  4. I found my own answer on chatGPT: Zac Gallen has 2 career starts pitching at Wrigley Field (vs. the Cubs). Here are his Wrigley-only pitching lines: July 20, 2024 (at CHC, Wrigley): 5.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 6 BB, 4 K (Diamondbacks won 3–0) April 19, 2025 (at CHC, Wrigley): 6.0 IP, 6 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 HR (Cubs won 6–2) Totals at Wrigley Field (career): 2 GS, 11.0 IP, 6 ER, 10 H, 8 BB, 6 K, 2 HR, 1–1, 4.91 ERA.
  5. Does anyone know Zac’s numbers pitching at Wrigley?
  6. Does getting Bregman require us to trade Shaw? Remember Bregman was hurt last year. Infield depth is not a bad thing.
  7. The problem is the roster is really solid so you could argue they have a complete club. Even now you might say we have our 8th and 9th inning bullpen and some good prospects for the 7th. What we don’t have are any superstars….on both O and in our pitchers. Can you win a WS that way? I don’t think so. I want another BIG bat and a top of the rotation guy. We should want both. It makes everyone better but it does cost serious coin.
  8. I feel like his comments were more of a joke, but let's see where he lands up. I keep hearing SF.
  9. Boyd and Talloin’s numbers are wrong?
  10. If I had to guess it’s King or Cabrera in a trade.
  11. That team is certainly not afraid of LT contracts.
  12. How long have people been saying he needs a third pitch? I’m sure he has worked on trying to get one for a while. But eventually he needs to be a bullpen guy unless he gets one, right?
  13. He wants to feel that “survival vibe.” 😂 How can we create that without getting rid of our Japanese players?
  14. People keep bringing up Brown as part of the 2026 plan, but what is his role?
  15. With so many contracts expiring at the end of 2026 - I’d hope we would be all in - but with this owner that never means financially.
  16. Eh I don’t know. I don’t see it. I see a pitcher in decline that gives up too many HRs. 22 million is a lot to go give to a guy who was not trusted at the end of last year. I hope to be wrong - I hope he bounces back. I love his personality and his love for Chicago.
  17. What is the plan for the offense? Anyone know?
  18. That and he is not a good defensive player. No thanks. I’m not sure how he changes the team that much except it would gut the farm.
  19. If so why didn’t the Cubs people notice that?
  20. This bothers me. $22 million for a guy who was trending terribly at the end of the year on a big market but sometimes cheaply run team? I wish he had turned it down.
  21. We need a new top of the rotation starter and if we are serious about winning a WS. Period.
  22. I’m just not sure you pay $22 mil to your number 4 starter. His velo was down at the end of the year and there was no injury.
  23. I don’t understand the QO to Shota. If he signed elsewhere, great. But there is a risk.
  24. I want Bregman or Tucker plus a #1 SP. I know that is asking a lot and sounds so unlikely with this ownership, but we are the freakin high market Chicago Cubs with a team built to win for 2026. Go. All. In.
