  1. Of the prospect lists which tend to be the most respected? Or which has the highest correlation between rankings and MLB success? A ranking to war/yr maybe? I can't find that such a thing exists, but it should.
  2. Fair. I was conflating Hope with Ferris for whatever reason. Yeah, that is pretty flukey you are absolutely correct. Thanks for your thoughtful reply. If they extend Tucker I'll be less cranky. Edit: Opening day of Cubs convention is his birthday. Seems a little obvious to announce an extension then, I know, but I'd let it slide.
  3. So Jed traded away what would have been our top two prospects within 12 months for a 2-3 war 1b and one year of Tucker? Am I getting this right?
  4. I enjoy TomtheBombadil's posts. So you can't say 'no one.'
  5. It's like Jed took that old Method Man line to heart, "If you can't get yourself a 10. The least you can do is horsefeathers five 2's."
  6. Wrote the original post as a joke, guess the only joke was the Cubs organization. Things that make me sad with their consistency. Bringing the hot girl home from the club, only to haggle over cab fare, go home and jerk off to frugality. The horsefeathers.
  7. Odds on Jed taking Tucker to arb?
  8. Had season tickets to the Tigers for his first few seasons (was living in Ann Arbor) and he is easily the best pitcher I've ever seen. Homey was pumping 100+, easily, in the 8th and 9th innings. Like watching a varsity pitcher mow down a coed gym class of slightly autistic octogenarians. (side note, on his off days, he was fun to watch fight with Granderson as they shagged fly balls in CF. They went after it hard, JV leaping on Grandy's back at one point to try and catch a fly ball before he could and they both toppled laughing. Hadn't ever see professional athletes have so damn much fun. Really easy guy to root for, same for Granderson.)
  9. Not with that attitude!
  10. Gotta have something to look forward to
  11. Blueprint for an 83 win team.
  12. Of course it does! Just wait for the trickle down!
  13. Who would a good comp be for a package? And I really don't know anything about him besides looking at his fan graphs page and he's a one year rental.
  14. Well said. Sadly Jed and Co. do seem more interested in belts than rings. (I'd prefer both stay at AAA until they force the issue,)
  15. Sustaining mediocrity may have been the goal, as I can see them running the same group back out there again next year, hoping the third time is a charm.
  16. “If it ain’t a bargain, you paid too much.” Jed, probably.
  17. Ideal offseason is both Soto and Vladdy (with an extension.) Yes, two contracts Jed won't ever offer, both accepted and signed in the same off season. Alright, universe. It's your turn.
  18. So his baseline is Happ this year with plus defense in RF?
  19. If Belli is at first, I'd rather move Busch to 2b, slide Nico into a toasty Super Sub role, but of course that isn't going to happen. Does anyone know if Belli opts in if he can be traded?
  20. Move Nico, bring in Vladito, push Busch to 2b. Easy.
