    I am always fascinated by baseball stats/facts where every year there is a ton of firsts. Stuff that have either never happened in decades or ever. I can’t imagine two catchers on the same team have ever hit for the cycle in the same year.

    ML managers tend to give young pitchers making their ML debut short outings to get a feel for things and they are usually put on a pitch limit anyway, so I had convinced myself that maybe Mick Abel is old as horsefeathers making his ML debut, like 34 or some age like that. Colour me surprised that he’s 23.

    I noticed in the second Dodgers series that Shohei Ohtani was in awe of PCA. That’s an MVP in itself. The man, the myth, the legend, the greatest person in the history of the world to be named Pete.

    Baseball fans hating a certain team to the point of scoreboard watching that team more than your own must be an exhausting thing to do every year. More so than in any other sport where there are a lot fewer games.
