    The same five year rule probably applies to the Cubs HOF as it does for the national HOF. Jon Lester retired in 2021. Hendricks retired last year. But over the next 10 years from now I’d like to see Hendricks, Rizzo, Arrieta, Bryant, Baez (maybe some others from the 2016 squad) all in the Cubs HOF. That was a historical WS winning squad and several members of it should be inducted.

    Of course Dodger fans are calling Friedman the greatest GM of all time in any sport. Yeah, it’s easy to be called that when your owners spend like no other club has in MLB history. Theo Epstein shits all over him.

    Considering Willson Contreras freaked out last year against the Cubs and he has history with the club, I can’t wait to see what horsefeathers he pulls against the Yankees as a member of the Red Sox.

    And try they have. Bregman and Cabrera is a nice offseason. Better than what we’ve been accustomed to. But I totally understand the disappointment.

    They did. Then 2016 happened. The Ricketts simply don’t care anymore. Now it’s all about making themselves richer.

    If you understand the Ricketts family, Then you already understand Hoyer. Any other President of Baseball ops guy given the task of winning, but constantly failing every offseason and that person would have been run out of town by the owners. But Hoyer’s instructions from the owners is to stay within the budget, don’t overspend and he’s rewarded with a new contract. He’s a yes man for owners who love the job he’s doing.
