  1. Although I am happy that the other teams with better rotations than ours didn’t improve their rotations, I am still disappointed.
  2. From losers to winners. That makes up for a lot of things.
  3. I remember going to Greece when I was 9 years old during the school years and family over there had a dog named Booby. When I came back home and went to school, the teacher put me in front of the class to talk about my trip and I mentioned Booby the dog. Well, the entire class and I burst into laughter every time I said Booby. Now, I am just realising after 33 years that I have a great horsefeathers memory and I still chuckle when I think about Booby.
  4. Can’t wait for Jed to be on the next Cubs broadcast and see Boog throw softball questions at him. Boog: “So the team is first in the division, it’s a good plan not to mess with the roster too much?” Jed: “Yes.” Boog: “Javier Assad and Jameson Taillon are returning soon, it’s a good plan not to trade good prospects for a starter?” Jed: “Yes.” Boog: “Thank you for your time, Jed!”
  5. I feel like Jed hasn’t seen a top 30 Cubs prospects he doesn’t like yet.
  6. I feel like this is Jed at the deadline talking to every clubs GM before coming away with Castro and a player who’s name I have already forgotten
  7. Maybe not that significant, but Rogers was traded the Pirates yesterday.
  8. I was worried it was PTBNL. Dude needs a break.
  9. Aroldis did put us over the top after that worrying 5-15 run.
  10. If they don’t get him and still want a Ryan on their team, they can have Ryan Pressly for free.
  11. Happy-ish with Castro the player, the upgrade over someone like Berti is big.
  12. I miss the days when Theo Epstein grabbed Aroldis Chapman at the deadline and the Cubs steamrolled the NL to win the World Series.
  13. Was going to say it’s surprising the Padres at 60-49 are trading a pitcher of Dylan Cease’ calibre. And then I looked it up and Dylan has sucked this year.
  14. I can’t even crack a smile at the prospects of it, because first I need to know if his under-the-hood, over-the-bonnet, inside-the-chassis, above-the-barrel underlying numbers are fine. It would also be good to know if his 2025 FIP is better than his 2019 FIP and if his 2025 ERA+ is better than his college ERA+. Only then can I smile at a potential trade for Merrill Kelly.
  15. Surely I am not the only person who googled Rojas Flores?
  16. Now go and finish up by getting that controllable starter we want and perhaps a position player to replace the innings eating Jon Berti. And then I will be satisfied.
  17. After 700+ hours of watching Cubs baseball every year, whatever helps. Heck, this is me if I’ve been watching a game for 3 hours and the closer blows a save
  18. So we are down to two worthless bench bats. Jed, do Turner and Berti next!
  19. Hopefully this is Tom Ricketts and Jed Hoyer has only just understood and about to go on a spending spree:
  20. Yep, I’d love that. Give the prospect a chance.
