    NFL Week 8

They pressured the hell out of Mahomes. It was a beautiful thing to watch.
  2. The Blackhawks are the 2011-2014 Cubs right now when we literally sat and watched a sub-par team just to get to Rizzo and Castro's at-bats. Very few guys on this Hawks roster are going to be here or matter in a few short seasons. There's literally nothing to watch except Bedard's shifts.
  3. Yep. Boxing wants Fury vs. Usyk, so the only way Ngannou was winning that fight was stopping Fury. I was impressed. Scoring the knockdown was huge. Ngannou looked comfortable in there. I do really well with boxing and I put a lot of my picks on here so people can tail them if they want.
  4. This is the grumpiest Cubs forum I’ve ever been a part of. 😂
  5. For tomorrow, via FD... Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou Over 4.5 rounds (-156) Tyson will toy with him and entertain the crowd. I actually think the fight goes beyond 6 and Tyson gets the technical KO between rounds 7-9.
  6. Only legitimate complaint was the overuse of Chapman, who was gassed by G7, but he was a horse and was used like it. The rest of the pen was... unsteady and unreliable... to say the least. Did you really want to see Grimm or Rondon take the ball in G7? I'll go as far as to say that if Joe doesn't use his pen the way he did in Games 5 and 7, we lose.
  7. One thing Joe did that I think gets overlooked is shortening up the pen during the WS. He was pretty much down to Chapman, Montgomery, and Edwards for the final three games of the series. I'm very much in the "enjoy the trophy" camp. I don't care how we do, so long as we do it. Sometimes people just get lost in all of the nuances of the game and forget to just enjoy the game itself.
  8. I would imagine the D-backs usage of Schilling and Johnson two years prior had a lot to do with that also.
  9. Honestly, I try. We could win 103 games and the World Series and people will still find reasons to complain. And they did. But, that doesn't mean we can't appreciate what those guys did for us. Dusty, Joe, Lou. They all gave us hope and some exciting baseball on the field. I'll take that.
  10. Winning in 2016 makes 2003 sting a whole lot less. Still, we got to experience that awesome high at the time. Whether or not Dusty ruined arms is another discussion, but I recall it being said that Wood was over-pitched since high school and Prior may or may never have avoided the injuries with another manager. Zambrano had success post-Dusty.
  11. Congratulations to Dusty Baker on an incredible baseball career. He was the first Cubs manager that gave me hope. I will always appreciate what he did for the organization, particularly in 2003, and the many great moments he had with us, like yelling at LaRussa from across the diamond. I was happy for him when he finally won his World Series ring.

+12500! Not doubt there was someone out there crazy enough to put a $100 on that.
  13. Tampa was my "surprise" pick to miss the playoffs. Vasilevskiy out from back surgery and a lot of miles on that team. Tampa will miss and Buffalo will get in. Also, I look for Kane to sign with the Sabres when he's ready.
  14. Its the last sentence. It doesn't matter how you get in, just get in. The league best Braves and their 104 wins and the 100-win Dodgers are at home watching three 90 win teams and an 84 win team play to go to the World Series.

Via BetMGM Sportsbook, Arizona began the season at +12500 to win the World Series. They were +550 to make the postseason and -750 to miss it.
  16. I've always been a Corey Perry guy and I defended that signing to a lot of fans who just hated him because of his game. I love Perry as a Hawk! Even if his best years are behind him.
  17. 2 for 3 in this parlay. Unfortunately, Gualtieri was afraid to throw. I tried to hit that cash out after it came obvious that he was afraid to let his hands go, but it's always conveniently unavailable when I need it. Lost $150 tonight, but two more legs of a parlay I made several weeks ago were winners. Last leg is Shakur Stevenson next month.
  18. Richard Torrez to win in Round 1-2 (-130) Keyshawn Davis Points or Decision (-160) Janibek Alimkhanuly Points or Decision (+240) $150 to win $1,466.25 Janibek is always a tough call. He can KO anyone, but he struggled to put away Denzel Bentley in a fight he was highly favored to win by KO. It went the distance. Vincenzo Gualtieri has never lost. He doesn't have the fire power to put Janibek away, but he's got the boxing skill to take him the distance. Janibek should win by decision if it gets to the judges.
  19. I appreciate what Ovechkin has done in the game, though never personally been a fan, but it really makes you marvel at his durability over his career when you compare it to the average player’s career.
  20. Good betting card coming up this Saturday. Janibek Alimkhanuly vs. Vincenzo Gualtieri Keyshawn Davis vs. Nahir Albright Richard Torrez vs. Tyrrell Herndon We also get Tim Tszyu vs. Brian Mendoza on the same day. I have one 4-leg boxing parlay that's that's two legs in, the third being the Janibek fight, but going to put another one together with this undercard.
  21. This has been Hall's career, unfortunately, and it was expected when we traded for him. Just didn't think it would be two games into the season.
  22. I’ll never forget Kerry’s HR in Game 7. No cell phones. Every fan was living in the moment, hanging on and reacting to every pitch. I still get goosebumps watching that video.
  23. Imagine if they were still in the NL Central. 😰
  24. Easy call tonight.
  25. Posted it in the betting thread, but his O/U on FD was only like 68.5 (-113). Easy money. Just sucks to have to wait so long for the payout.
