    I get your pessimism. I’m just saying just because we haven’t heard much on the Cubs being the favorites doesn’t mean they can’t seal the deal.

    Cubs haven’t made any moves. Cubs beat reporters haven’t spoken a word. I’m thinking they’re very much in this.

    I still think it’s interesting that the big Chicago reporters haven’t said or re-tweeted anything all day. Levine, Mooney, Rogers, Sharma, etc.

    Sucks but no one will ever really know the truth outside of Ohtani and his agent. -Maybe the Cubs were just leverage? -Maybe he didn’t want to hit/pitch in the cold Mar/Apr months? -Maybe the Cubs lowballed him Whatever it is I’m ready to move on and see if Jed can build on last year’s team.

    Someone posted on Twitter that his agent announced he was signing with the Angels on 12/8/17. Sure enough, I looked it up and that is correct. Wouldn't be surprised if it does happen today then.

    So now we're upset because of the secretness of his free agency? It sucks as a fan and for journalists but if that's what him and his agent want, then that's their right. I won't think any less of him for it.

    The Athletic doesn’t say they’re out on Ohtani but the fact that they say they are pivoting says enough for me. Maybe Jed is just pissed info got leaked? Jed loses leverage once other teams know Cubs are out.
