    I’m cool not being handcuffed by an expensive contract. Especially with the penalty’s for being over the luxury tax.

    Seager, Smith, Buehler, Urías (had a crappy 23 but was a stud in 21/22), Outman, Kenley Jansen. They didn’t draft Turner or Muncy but as soon as they became Dodgers they took off. Don’t forget they may have just turned our own J-Hey around… That’s a pretty extensive list imo.

    You’re right, never knew that. It’s wild that it takes about 4 hours from ORD to LAX but from ORD to Tokyo it’s 13 hours and about 12 from LAX to Tokyo.

    I’m going to assume it was always about the money, him staying on the west coast, and Dodgers always contending. It’s a short flight to Japan. Probably stays in the same area in Cali. Dodgers also a consistent winner.

    Levine was talking Bellinger on the Score this AM. Says now that the Yanks are out it leaves the Cubs and Mariners interested in him. Mentioned signing Hoskins to a pillow contract then Belli shifts to 1B if PCA works out when Hoskins leaves in a year.

    I didn’t dig too far but I see he has a screenshot with timestamp of him announcing Judge back to Yanks with correct years and total contract amount before national reporters.

    I get your pessimism. I’m just saying just because we haven’t heard much on the Cubs being the favorites doesn’t mean they can’t seal the deal.

    Cubs haven’t made any moves. Cubs beat reporters haven’t spoken a word. I’m thinking they’re very much in this.

    I still think it’s interesting that the big Chicago reporters haven’t said or re-tweeted anything all day. Levine, Mooney, Rogers, Sharma, etc.

    Sucks but no one will ever really know the truth outside of Ohtani and his agent. -Maybe the Cubs were just leverage? -Maybe he didn’t want to hit/pitch in the cold Mar/Apr months? -Maybe the Cubs lowballed him Whatever it is I’m ready to move on and see if Jed can build on last year’s team.
