  1. It certainly is boneheaded when you don’t upgrade other obvious positions of need. We aren’t one move away from the World Series. It’s idiotic to make a move that says otherwise. But hopefully you’ll enjoy us possibly winning a weak division and getting stuck with 5 more years of Jed Hoyer.
  2. I really thinking trading Cam Smith for one year of Tucker, and then not going all in in free agency to supplement around him is one of the most boneheaded moves I’ve seen made by a team I follow.
  3. So only post when dehydrated?!
  4. Personally, I hope the dodgers become a yankee like dynasty. They’re a big market and choose to take advantage of that. They should be praised for that. It’s not their faults we have a conman for an owner.
  5. Getting Tucker for a year will go down as one of the dumbest moves I’ve seen as a cubs fan. okay, this might by hyperbole because I’m tired and can’t think straight. But it’s very dumb.
  6. I mean we really don’t know his preference though. Maybe he has no interest in playing in Chicago during the cold months. Maybe the wind blowing out scared him away. We have no way of knowing. What we do know is Jed needs to get off his ass and make a big boy move. I just feel like Tucker is a one year move to try and save his own ass. So I can’t even feel excited about that one.
  7. That’s not the blue jays either. Though, I do understand the point you’re making.
  8. Oh I absolutely blame him for the roster. I just don’t think you can pin Sasaki on him. With the money being nearly the same, it comes down to his preferences, of which, we don’t know.. It really sucks though because I don’t actually trust Jed to improve the club much the rest of the offseason.
  9. The concerning part about this is that now Jed has to actually do his job. That’s terrifying. Not blaming him for this one. But Tucker* aside, this has been a terrible offseason. * working under the assumption Tucker is a one year rental to try and save a mediocre executive his job.
  10. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6056160/2025/01/13/roki-sasaki-toronto-blue-jays-meeting/
  11. This trade scares me a little if it’s a one year rental. If we sign him long term eventually, I’m jazzed!
  12. Are we doing a winter meetings thread? I like catching up on every rumor as they happened after work.
  13. Did not see those articles. Did it seem like “here’s some teams we think fit with him” or, like, they actually know we’re interested? I dont see it happening anyway. But he’s my top offseason get.
  14. Why do we never seemed to be mentioned as far as Sasaki?
  15. Dodgers continue to be the best organization in baseball
  16. Hope Kyle succeeds there and glad he gets to keep pitching. He gave us so much and will always be a Cub in my eyes.
  17. Yeah, I don’t like that they’re out there announcing this. Seems like this is to show that they’re willing to go over while also making setting it up so they don’t exceed it again next year. Also, just want to take a moment to share (again) my amazement at how expensive this mediocre roster is. Jed is really terrible at the job Theo got for him.
  18. Ohhhh this is awesome. Thanks for posting!
  19. This will all be worth it if Jed gets canned. 🙏
