With all due respect to the posters and their hand wringing and hyperbole over jed's current lame duck relationship with TR. Perhaps, and only perhaps, jed wishes to merely finish his current contract and bow out gracefully into the mist and join Theo and the huge conglomerate of the multi-billion $ Fenway Sports Group? FSG consists of the Red Sox, Pittsburgh Penguins, RFK Racing, Boston Common Golf and multiple other sports entities. Jed has so much boston/ CT. ties. He just might want to test Thomas Wolfe and go home. Although this may sound sacrilegious to cub fanatics, his life goals may consist of a whole lot more than trying to negotiate with a scotty boras or making Wrigley ADA compliant and appearing at Cubbie Con?

He is/was to be examined sometime in November by a specialist to find out if he has any restrictions going forward. I'm not taking for granted he'll be ready until I hear jed say he's throwing.

I realize jed's hope failed. But I'm curious which prospects he had targeted to offer up from his well stocked inventory. It never got to a proposal. He had to have a plan in place. He just didn't sit down at his desk with a 5th of Wellers and call up the angels and try to imitate bill veeck doodling on the back of a napkin. I'd love to know the names he was willing to say buh bye. It had to have been substantial. Only jed knows and none of us will ever. And this kinda had to fall in the same vein as your "any and all" conviction. So I do believe he was prepared to do the "any" during this instance
