I'd just prefer sticking with Jordan Wicks as the second lefty in the rotation. By ignoring montgomery and imanaga tom could save $ to chase soto again next offseason. Bwahahaha. Besides, wouldn't it be cool if Jordan Wicks started a game and $9million pickup Jordan Hicks finished it out?

I read an interesting report by AL Yellon. He was saying how the current players association contract stipulates mlb teams can not claim lack of interest in any player. Players could claim the team hurt their chances of earnings. So I would presume if morisi we're to say : hey jed, are you in on Augie Ojeda? Jed would have to say sure.

The frustrating thing to signing a 1 year deal with Hoskins is we get to do firstbase all over again in 2025. As a side note - Does Boras have every decent player as a client?

Rhys Hoskins is 1 month older than Matt Chapman. Matt Chapman is the better all around player. Rhys Hoskins is trying to comeback from major surgery. Rhys Hoskins will probably get minimum 2 year deal. Matt Chapman is healthy. Matt Chapman may settle for 3 or 4. I'd suspect in this year's market Rhys Hoskins will probably get 24m per year Matt Chapman will probably get minimum 27 per year. Matt Chapman is the better option

I agree with your sentiments regarding madrigal. But recent history will tell you both the Astros and Rays stand a better chance of contending into september than our crappy cub team as currently constructed. And to hold out on a wish and a prayer for a substantial thirdbaseman availability heading into September is a terrible way to build a playoff roster. Morel glove at 3rd makes me vomit. His poor fielding will probably affect his hitting mentality. And to holdout hope of a youngster with 50ish innings played at third in his first pro season is akin to praying to sweet baby Jesus to win the lottery. An offseason of Chapman bellinger and Hoskins is the quickest way to contention this upcoming season. And the more I utilize Medicare, the more I want a contender NOW. Sorry for the rant

The sobering thought is the Cubs haven't traded during the offseason for 7 years now. Hopefully Jed changes status quo. Otherwise madrigal is the option going into s.t. Or it just might be matt chapman coming to town.
