  1. Only if it’s a multi year piece imo. Honestly, I’m not sure this current offense/position core is good enough, but I’m not certain Jed can sell a retool and maintain his role either. I could get on board with a Vlad Jr type move if we truly try to extend him. I dream of an Olson type move at some point from Jed, but not sure it’s ever going to happen.
  2. This is a horsefeathers show of an org right now. I don’t know exactly what needs to happen to turn things around, but something has to change. Same horsefeathers different day
  3. Agreed. The flip side could be said about Merryweather. Now if someone wants to go after Jed for giving Smyly/Mancini/Barnhart two year contracts along with picking up Hendricks option, Mastro/Madrigal, and going mutiple seasons without having a longterm 1b/3b/Catcher locked up, I'm all for giving Jed some flak there.
  4. I know you're not referring to me specifically, but I've literally not said a negative thing about Swanson (Outside of maybe some of his lackadaisical throws this year). You and I both could see the appeal of trading for Adames, even if he was batting .197 in a little over a 100 PA at that point in 2021. The point remains, I'll praise leadership that actually isn't afraid to make moves like that when there is a glaring hole on your team. Busch was the first time seeing Jed take a leap, but we need more of that at some point.
  5. May 21st 2021, the 21-23 Brewers make a trade for Willy Adames to fill a glaring hole at SS. The Brewers finish the year 95-67 (74-44 post trade) to win the Central division. I fully understand there are some trades you need to wait until the trade deadline to make, but it irks me to no end when teams, who have playoff intentions, have a glaring hole and refuse to make the team better until the deadline. We came into this season needing another leverage arm and a middle of the order bat. Now, we might have the worst catching combo in the league and there is little to no hope there. If Jed is serious about this year, we need to make a move for a catcher sooner rather than later. We have little margin for error with our current construction (Subpar BP, bad defense, and an offense that is slumping) and then you roll out two catchers who absolutely can't hit, can't throw out any baserunners, and struggle to actually catch the ball, It's a bad recipe for a team already teetering on the edge.

  10. Are we thinking one or two more starts for Wicks to get him stretched out?
  11. Oof these ABs. Not sure why we can’t hit 93/94 mph fastballs right down the middle now
  12. horsefeathers. Why do I punish myself and watch every game???
  13. Either Hoerner is going to the IL or they’ve had enough of either Mastro or Madrigal
  14. Agree with this. Busch has actually made multiple very athletic plays at 1b that made me a believer that he will eventually become better at picking the short hops. The play he made on Mastro's throw down the 1b line last night where he dove and tagged the runner was nice. It's a tough combo of where we are breaking in Morel at 3b who has a cannon but struggles throwing, paired with Busch learning on the job. Dansby hasn't helped him out this year either by short hopping more throws than normal. I have faith he'll get there and it'll pay dividends in the long run. The process of getting there has been rough however.
  15. Love what PCA brings to the table. I just hope he continues to hit/get on base. He adds a swagger that this team just does not have elsewhere.
