  1. i love you fred
  2. im going to go ahead and retract my earlier statements and now say that the cardinals are a huge favorite and are sure to win with ease. they'll also sweep the world series.
  3. hahahahah
  4. vance do that thing with the louis armstrong picture
  5. does anyone know how much he's making now? i have no idea whatsoever what the payscale is like for pitching coaches.
  6. go and wear cubs stuff and be silent
  7. wow. what's the record for highest-paid pitching coach? is there any reason we shouldn't see that tripled here?
  8. the astros met my standard, and id say they are now the favorites. I'm curious how much of a swing tonight's game would represent. If the Cards win, they they're back to Busch, and home field holds true. Winning 3 in a row is a pretty tall task, but it's happened before. If the Cards win tonight, then I think that the pressure shifts back to the Astros. Of course, tonight is no guarantee, and Oswalt and Clemens at Busch isn't exactly a walk in the park, either. The Astros have definitely put themselves in a good position. No doubt about it. i think if the cards win tonight, the astros remain slight favorites. if the cardinals tie the series at 3, i think it'd be all but even, as the cardinals would be at home, but i cant say that i love that pitching matchup for them.
  9. i hope the white sox win the world series, and ozzie follows through and retires, and the bbwaa realizes that he must be the greatest manager of all time since he won the world series AND he invented smartball, and they induct him into the hall of fame.
  10. the astros met my standard, and id say they are now the favorites.
  11. wtg usc! i hate you notre dame, thanks for losing
  12. if by "slide him one under the wall", you mean they lifted the thousand pound concrete construction barriers and slid him one, sure, I believe it. hahahaha
  13. wtf are you talking about, harvey is way better
  14. I'm sorry, but if you think you're going to get the best offensive free agent on the market for 4 million dollars per year. You sir, are insane. I'm pretty sure he meant 3/36. Somehow I just don't think it's right to give Giles an equivalent or better deal than Aram. Can't explain why, though. You can't look at it that way when dealing with free agents. If we won't pay Giles more than Ramirez, then we won't have him. So it's either pay him more than Ramirez or have another season of Jeromy Burnitz or someone like him. You'd only do it for one season before Aramis opts out for a bigger contract, anyways. look on the bright side, this could be the year when aramis' groin pops and he misses the whole season. then he won't opt out for sure.
  15. Zach's taking this even worse than I thought. Link
  16. Oh, heck yes. I'm trying to arrange a sponsor for a prize, though. I'm looking to get an apparel company to give away a $100 gift certificate as a prize in return for the exposure they'll get for sponsoring the contest. That sounds like a $weet deal. See if they'll give away a Cubs Jersey with Giles number on the back!
  17. Actually they were division winners all 5 times. The thing about the 03 Cards is that they led the majors in blown saves. We didn't have our closer till June with most of those blown saves coming before then. This played a major role in the Cards not winning the division that year (even though they were in 1st place on the first of September of that year....picking up those wins early on would of made a huge difference.) the thing about the 05 cubs was that they didnt have good enough players or coaches. picking up more wins based on my fanciful idea of magically adding players to the roster who weren't available would've made a huge difference.
  18. the cardinals are the favorite until the astros have three wins and the cardinals dont.
  19. macha is a horrible manager. this makes no sense. and don't say poor tree. say poor zachary d manprin.
  20. the angels shouldve just not sucked and given up the double.
  21. the a's got rid of their hitting coach and manager this year it must suck to be a cub fan
  22. cabrera makes twice as much money and is famous
  23. astros>white sox>angels=yankees>cardinals so of course i think the cards will beat the angels or yankees to win the ws
