  1. bradley should've dove and let it go to the wall just to make fun of torii hunter
  2. followed by a bases clearing double by scutaro
  3. 2 outs, no one on ibb thomas bb chavez payton reaches on error bb swisher a's score

  5. How many teams have managed winning seasons with a 15M or less payroll in the last ten years? ZERO The Marlins have the best record of any 15M or less payroll team in the last half-decade. Putting things in context is a fun. how many 15 million dollar teams have there been? it shouldn't be too hard to compare rosters and decide whether the marlins were the most talented among them, because i can't believe there have been many.
  6. i miss da ellis already if the a's somehow advance (which they won't) and crosby isn't available (which he won't be) that middle infield is going to be a mess. they don't really have anybody around to put on the roster.
  7. I don't see how the NFL isn't intense. If you're capable of watching a 162 game MLB season when the best teams lose 60 times, I think you can find the intensity after a team loses a game. Homefield advantage is still important. And besides, there's only about 2 intense games per team in college, the rest are cakewalks. NFL players are playing because they are getting paid to do it. I'm sure they love the game and love to play but they are still getting paid. Just look at somebody like Ricky Williams. He played football because he was good at it and it was profitable. Go ahead and say what you want about $100 handshakes, but the college players aren't making millions every year. The NBA is WAY worse than the NFL as well. so ricky played for love of the game in college and suddenly forgot about that upon reaching the pros?
  8. A team that was predicted to lose over 100 games. I dont think it was all because of Girardi, but the team did vastly over-achieve. It might have some to do with his managing, it might not. how many wins do you think they'll have this year? remember, girardi's gone, so they're all going to go back to being bums.
  9. id rather have no manager and let the players decide on their own what to do than lou piniella zambrano's going to throw 180 pitches in a game either way, just imagine how much better it will be when he has to punch derrek lee in the face before he does it in the former scenario.
  10. Len, what do you do all winter? do you just lounge around or do you try to find exciting things to keep your interest? love, treeman
  11. the brad penny thing last night convinced me and tonight confirmed it for me. i'm really glad the dodgers hired him, otherwise, he'd probably still be working for us and about to be hired as manager.
  12. Holy crap! That would be horrible! i dunno, he might be right, it would be very fun to watch that staff lose 100 games
  13. has there been an asian baseball player who has come over and not subesequently been described as having ice water in his veins? i guess maybe irabu, but i'll bet they said that about him at first.
  14. i see a picture. i guess you'll just have to trust me on this one.
  15. that was the coolest thing ever. between the camera angle and thom, i thought the ball was going to bounce off the scoreboard. seeing drew standing there to catch it one-handed was amazing. GO DODGERS GO
  16. Dodgers seem to think they're facing 1999 Glavine. glavine had a lower era and a better k/bb this year than he did in 1999 im shocked too, i only looked it up because i wanted to see how good 1999 pedro/glavine/wagner would be
  17. lofton-nomar-kent would be the greatest 2-3-4 ever if this was 1999
  18. i saw it on sportscenter. pretty funny.
  19. This is the point. Yes, you can make the playoffs with holes in your lineup. But you most certainly shouldn't actively spend money on a guy who will be a hole in a lineup. If at the end of the offseason you looka t the lineup and say, oh we couldn't upgrade this position, we're stuck with a hole here. You live with it. If Pierre was still under contract for next year, it wouldn't be close to a top priority for me to trade him away. But since he's a FA, he's not a priority or even a target at this juncture in my book. this is a really good way to explain this. you should probably save it for easy copy paste.
  20. Anger Management. Let me guess, you probably would beat your wife/husband if you had one? There are somethings you just keep to yourself. No need for you negative posts. ???
