  1. eventually making it to aa isn't the same as already being aa caliber. this isn't hard.
  2. i couldn't see the game last night, but in z's previous start, the way he was dropping his arm definitely seemed indicative of some type of shoulder injury.
  3. nice move yankees, no reason to mess around
  4. really? they're really trying to convince everyone that there's no difference in safety? good luck with that.
  5. sure is going to suck to lose to braden freaking looper
  6. i think we all know that miller is due for two halfway decent starts and guzman is due to give up 12 weak groundball singles to crappy AAA hitters, thus leaving miller in the rotation for another month at least.
  7. His 3-inning scoreless job against Houston was 4-2 after 5 innings when he came in, a very winnable game (even though they lost). That certainly was a pressure situation, since he had to hold them right there to keep from falling further behind. actually it was 4-0. the cubs didn't score until the ninth. if you want to count it, feel free. doesn't seem like a big spot to me, though.
  8. Guzman has pitched much better during this season than he did in Spring Training, and Miller has not. What's transpired during the season could justifiably cause Lou to reconsider his earlier decision. so the cubs decided miller was better than guzman based on their 17 and 13 ip in spring training, and then realized they were wrong based on their 11 and 7 ip in the regular season? this seems like a bad way to make decisions. it should've been obvious to everyone that miller sucked before the season started. if the cubs INSISTED on giving him a shot, with the knowledge that he'd only get 2-3 starts before cutting bait, why not start guzman at AAA so he's ready to come up and start at a moment's notice? if you look at his game log, you'll see that guzman's been pitching in blowouts and games where we're behind by at least a few runs. he's not doing anything special that requires a particularly talented pitcher. we could be running anybody out there in his spot to this point and be no worse off.
  9. The planet where Gooz is stretched out to replace Wade Miller. if that's the case, why on earth did we have to let miller start the season as the fifth starter? did anyone really expect anything out of him? people's minds have been changed based on, what, three starts? if we're so willing to give up on him, it seems stupid that guzman was ever up. he could've been starting at AAA all along and made the start today.
  10. i think you're giving baseball players too much credit if you think they can really differentiate between "home run swing" and "hard line drive swing." i guess they could all just chop the ball on the ground, but i doubt that would've been a huge success either.
  11. i wish the birds that kept flying into the picture were vultures and they started picking at ohman
  12. ohman stands in rf and hopes no one hits it to him and theriot pitches
  13. mah-dee would be better sort of like marty with an accent, i like it
  14. PREDICTION the cubs will not make fair contact again in this game
  15. pete laforest sucks. i hate partially anglicized names. laforêt would be about 1000x's better.
  16. that commercial makes no sense. well, it makes sense if what carlos REALLY wants to do is argue with his girlfriend and then get dumped, because that's what's going to happen next.
  17. oh good aramis is still dead
