If that is the offer, I can't see Hendry turning it down. Its basically Vitters + a bunch of spare parts for Peavy. I would hate to trade Vitters, but for all we know he could injure his hand again or flame out at the higher levels. If the Cubs goal is to win now, its a risk worth taking. Sounds like speculation to me. I would be all in on a deal like that though.

    So they save $4.875 on this one, but are down one starter and up one more mediocre reliever. Exactly. Marquis has never been lights out, but I have a feeling fans will regret this trade later this season. I am going to wait to see who the 5th starter is and how he does before I will see if I may regret the trade.

    At least five members have been incredibly rude to me from the get-go. I'm issued a warning for fighting fire with fire. It's beyond ridiculous. Guess if you're not in a clique or a longstanding member, you're not allowed to defend yourself. I didn't even realize I was in a clique. I just laughed at your strange opinions. The "Clique" begins with IMB!, Meph, Derwood, and Truffle...what, you didn't get the memo from them? That Jersey guys is the biggest prick though, watch out for him. Though he is not as bad as that goony guy was. This is the first time I've ever seen my (screen)name linked to those three. Thanks for the laugh though :-)) Aw...don't play coy with me! We all know you guys get together in Meph's basement and make up new rules for your club. I'm still pissed about the No Homers rule.

    If that is the hold up, then that's pretty dumb. Dunn shouldn't play RF with Soriano in the same OF. Any manager who would play Soriano in LF and Dunn in RF should be fired. On the spot. So you wouldn't want Dunn, or you would want Dunn but put either Soriano or Dunn in another position. I didn't imply either. I was only saying that RF defense should not factor into whether or not to sign Dunn. LF defense yes, but defense isn't as important in LF as it is in RF. As to what I would do, if Dunn can be had for 3/36 as was suggested, I do that today, and let Soriano know he's going to be in RF, and Fukudome CF. Our overall defense in the OF takes a hit, but it's worth it. That's what I though, just wanted to clear that up in my head. I agree with ya!

    It definitely sounds like it or else it would have been done already IMO. They are probably looking for one more starting pitcher that they feel is a fit for them in the future and apparently they don't feel Marshall is the guy for that and frankly, I'm surprised about that. I'm thinking Hendry might be saying no to Marshall in the trade due to them wanting him as the swingman and put Shark in the minors to start. From the Padres perspective what you said makes sense though.

    Finally some who realizes that the mentioned names haven't been traded for Teahan. Calm down Hendry-lynchers until a deal is made. If that is what it will take to get Teahan, what the heck will it take to get DeJesus? Yuck. (Not that I am advocating getting either)
