  1. please stop overmanaging, lou! for the love of all that is good and right, stop doing things!
  2. i'm not sure what i dislike more, dusty's half-assed undermanaging or lou's half-assed overmanaging.
  3. that pu8nch and judy didn't deserve to be on base anyway, he can't hit.
  4. if we lose this game, jake is in trouble.
  5. these guys are adept at fouling off strike three, it's infuriating!
  6. kid, if you don't stop walking guys you're done, here.
  7. all he was trying to do was foul off pitches, that's all. he was going up there looking to walk because he knows he can't hit.
  8. doumit walks every time against the cubs.
  9. do not walk this guy. when did the pirates get so patient, anyway? they foul everything off until they walk, that's not fair.
  10. wow, paulino appears human against the cubs for the first time.

  12. When pitching is good, pitching is good. It usually doesn't go up and down. Their hitting may cool a little, but they'll keep pitching well throughout the year. well, our pitching has been just as good and i think our offense will prove to be better. I agree, but I'm saying that we'll have to keep up with them as opposed to them coming back to us. assuming your theory that "pitching doesn't go up or down", we can't help but keep up with them. i think our offense will be worth more than 5 games over the next 133.
  13. Great discussion. Where would you guys say that the Cubs biggest depth problem is? Catcher is number one-putting Blanco in as the everyday catcher instead of Barrett would be a big loss to the offense (although not so far this season). 1B is another one-although the Cubs have two decent candidates to fill it this year unlike last year, that still is such a huge dropoff. 3B is probably the 3rd position player-the Cubs have Scott Moore in the minors who could come up and do an ok job filling in, but it would be trouble if he had to be in the lineup for a long time. Another SP is also a minor depth concern, although if Sean Marshall continues to pitch the way he has coming back from his injury that concern isn't very strong. offensively, yes, but blanco handles pitching staffs remarkably well and is a top notch defensive player. at 1b, of course there's going to be a dropoff, derrek lee is one of the best hitters in the game. at 3b, derosa would slide over before moore would be utilized, although he may be called up if ramirez goes down.

  15. even my wife, who knows little about the game, was yelling at ramirez for swinging at balls 3 and 4.
  16. 52.6% well, they got open looks, they just hit them. the bulls also got open looks and didn't. Story of the whole game. The Pistons badly outplayed us, but they also had everything go their way. 3's dropping, rebounds bouncing right at them, stupid traveling calls. Come on man. Don't blame it on luck. The rebounds just don't "fall" to a team. They wanted the ball more. Our guys were completely out of place. It seemed like we really didn't want it. At least when we went down 0-2 last year against the Heat, we easily could've won game 1 and in game 2, we had a furious rally that came up just short. I felt pretty good about winning game 3 and game 4 in Chicago. Not so much the case this year. from what i saw, the game would have taken on a different dynamic if the shots were falling for the bulls, well, obviously. i don't think it was luck, but i don't think the pistons outplayed them by a whole lot.
  17. i heard the interview with denny mcclain. he's lived a very interesting life. he's got a great radio voice, though.

  19. what did the pistons shoot from 3 point range?
  20. That was Jermaine O'Neal. i remembered that after i posted it and was going to change it, but i thought "screw it, whatever".
  21. i really hope we pound them at the UC and the crowd is full of obnoxious fans. i'm starting to like artest for jacking that fat guy in the chest right in front of the camera, that was cool.
  22. all i'm saying is that i'm not ready to concede that milwaukee is better because they've gotten off to a better start than the cubs. i agree. but the fact that they've gotten off to a better start makes it harder for the cubs to catch them...even if the cubs' luck improves and the brewers' luck declines. there's no denying that.
  23. sometimes rasheed is funny, but most of the time he looks upset at everyone and then he starts screaming at people who aren't there, that happens a lot, actually.
