  1. i knew that the fish would sweep us, we haven't beaten them since game 4. just better hope we can win the last series of the season or we're toast..
  2. my point exactly. white person= racism doesn't exist, black people are whiners, dave chappelle makes jokes about white people and he never gets arrested, milton bradley just hates white people, so do jesse jackson, al sharpton, etc.
  3. i beat people up so bad that the cops take THEM to jail. this one guy i beat up claimed that i was six black men.
  4. wow, i'm shocked yet again. black person claims to have been the victim of racism or racist speech, white people claim that racist names do not exist and disavow any knowledge that racism itself has actually ever existed--go on to call said black person crazy. breaking news.
  5. Illinois is not going to push PSU all over the field. Our defense is too fast and too strong. For all the Mike Hart praise during the game last weekend (seriously if Nessler and Griese wanted to ask him out, couldn't they have just done it after the game?), he only averaged 3.5 yards per carry. I'm not sure who is going to win yet - it probably depends on whether Morelli plays like crap or not - but I'd be very surprised if Illinois wins by more than a touchdown. Austin Scott probably won't be on the field to give Illinois the ball once or twice, either. i'm just throwing it out there, not proclaiming it a mortal lock or anything. it's my own biased opinion, and i'd probably feel differently if i were a psu guy. but remember, mendenhall and benn are awfully fast and strong as well--forgetting the fact that the illini o-line has dominated every team they've faced thus far. not that they've faced a front like psu's yet, of course. it will be the young illini's next test.
  6. i think illinois pushes yet another team all over the field this week. their lines look pretty studly, even without mccray, brent, and tez--who will anchor the future line for years to come. and i would absolutely love to see mcgee get some more snaps. i think the illini win by ten.
  7. I-N-I couldn't let that one go unanswered. shard for heisman.
  8. What's your point? Where did I say otherwise? My point is that umpires aren't perfect. And my point is that they made two terrible calls in the 7th inning, both of which went against the Brewers, leading to 4 runs in an absolutely critical game. i don't think he really asked for your point.
  9. illinois is very fast and strong at their most important skill positions, which is awesome. the only problem is that juice has yet to impress me throwing the football. if future teams stack the line to prevent mendenhall from tap dancing on their db's chests, they may need to go to mcgee, who has impressed me throwing the football.
  10. I thought Cuse was playing Illinois this week? I keep telling you guys, Illinois is jacked. i hope syracuse is a good team, because illinois just pushed them all over the field today. if they're a good team, illinois is a great team. 3 td's for shard. Syracuse is one of the worst football teams in I-A. They are probably the worst BCS conference team. Iowa manhandled them last week and Washington did the week before. oh, i know that. i was just being facetious, i think.
  11. Juice FTW (maybe in 2 years) (probably not) Kellen Lewis has shown me more than Williams. unfortunately, this is true. although i think juice will prove to be superior over the course of their careers based purely on bias. well, that and that fact that williams has better physical tools.
  12. Way to criticize a guy based on a hypothetical situation. That's fair. He didn't criticize him; he just stated facts. Fact: Kendall's arm is crap. Based on that, it's reasonable to infer that he may not have been able to make that throw. Why trash Kendall's arm because of a play Soto makes? Does that make any sense? To show it was an exceptional play that the normal catcher doesn't make? I don't understand why this is such an issue. It was a very good play by Soto, and you should have just left it at that. Bringing Kendall up in regards to that play makes zero sense. no, it does make sense.
  13. Are you being serious? The catcher who is currently playing makes a great play, A poster comments that the teams catcher who would regularly be playing may likely not be able to make that same play. It wasn't really off topic. Actually it was. All you guys who are all over Soto use anything you can trash Kendall. The fact is, we have no idea how that play would've been different had Kendall been playing. Maybe it wouldn't have gotten through him in the first place. It's completely unfair to criticize players based on plays that other guys make. kendall may or may not have made trhat play, but i think it's fair, based on statistical info, to say that he wouldn't have.

The catcher who is currently playing makes a great play, A poster comments that the teams catcher who would regularly be playing may likely not be able to make that same play. It wasn't really off topic. let's just say that soto is good and leave it at that. i don't think anyone was trying to trash kendall--even though roast did say that kendall's arm "is crap", which is true.

  16. blame it on the despots. they're jealous of his popularity or something. apparently they can't stand him.
  17. illinois has almost 400 rushing yards today
  18. this is the most important situation of the game, bring in your best reliever. dempster isn't.
  19. this is what always happens this is what always happens this is what always happens this is what always happens
  20. soto, pie, and theriot should be opening day starters. sign andruw jones to whatever he wants and call it an offseason, save minor changes. gallagher should get marshall's spot, who should be traded for whatever we can get for him--face it, marquis is here to stay regardless of what we might think of him. soriano theriot lee ramirez a jones derosa soto pie zambrano lilly hill marquis gallagher i could live with that. let me just add that i think acquiring arod is far all intents and purposes, the biggest pipe dream in the history of pipe dreams. and i'm talking a gas pipe.
  21. Why are you citing what is essentially a meaningless stat? It has no predictive value and only tells you how lucky the hitter has been in the past. Meaningless to you, not to me. I like guys who hit well with men on base. Murton's BA with RISP has been much worse than his BA for his entire MLB career. That siad, I support Matt to play in front of Floyd. I like his hot bat now. it's meaningless because, as a general rule, a player's BA w/risp naturally gravitates towards his total ba over the course of his career. i like guys who hit well with runners on base, too. but those same guys are those that hit well in any situation: close and late, blowouts early, full moon, saturnalia, fourth of july, etc. murton's career ops w/risp is below his career ops, but not ridiculously below. given enough pa's that number will come up and run consistent with his career averages. define "ridiculous". The numbers are very significant, both career and this year. no, they're not, considering the relatively short career that murton has had, 661 total pas. .277/.374/.384 to .303/.370/.462 not very significant at all. his numbers are down this season, but that usually means that they'll be up next season, or the season after that. Where are you getting those career numbers with RISP? Here is what I'm looking at: Murton's career Overall: .296/.364/.452 Nobody on: .330/.385/.526 Runners On: .246/.335/.346 RISP: .257/.354/.359 RISP/2outs: .247/.336/.320 So Murton's overall numbers and his numbers with RISP are about 100 points apart. The difference between nobody on and runners on is 230 points. i'm looking at his 3-year splits. Scoring Position 159 61 44 7 2 2 55 25 2 26 1 2 .277 .374 .384 .758 and i'm not looking at his numbers with nobody on, that can be just as meaningless as what he hits with runners on, and will follow the mean eventually as well. i'm looking across all situations. his career average w/risp will gravitate.
