personally, i understand reid's anger at being benched, but the kid who stepped in was better than he was. i don't see the problem. somebody got the job and did it better than him so now the coach is at fault? if anything, the coach should be praised, it worked out the exact way that he thought it would. looks like the kid was built up his whole life to be a professional player and couldn't take a little competition. boo-hoo.

we beat the phillies. there's a first for everything.

i wish this didn't always happen. leads are meaningless against the phillies. we never beat them, so why should we be able to keep any kind of lead? they will find a way to beat us every single time, like they've done the last 20 years.

it really seems like marquis has good stuff and occassionally shows it. it's a wonder why he's so bad.

you see, this is where teams got smart against our young pitchers about 4 years back.. they just stretched them out. i swear managers told their players to try to foul as many pitches off in a row as they could--it was probably a game within a game.

can we just forfeit tomorrow and get out of town early? it would save our guys the humiliation of having to lose on the field for the 1 millionth time in a row to the phillies.

no, but while he was hitting that pitch, he did several cartweels, broke his left ankle, made an ugly looking catch and healed himself in the span of like 5 seconds. oh yeah, then he threw someone out at home.

In all fairness, righties do slightly better against him than lefties. yes, but this doesn't mean you bench one of your best hitters. I think Kosuke was just due for a day off. It didn't have anything to do with Hamels. sosa played nearly every day in right during the 90's. it's not that hard, i doubt kosuke needs a day off.

how many times does hamels have to shut down a lineup full of righties before lou realizes that his changeup might be fooling them just a bit? it bottles my mind just how old timey and caught up in tradition you have to be to put a lineup like this out there against a lefty changeup artist.

yeah, we should have gotten another pitcher. we'll learn that when we're losing a lot this year. we should just start short relievers and let the long relievers pitch the majority of the games. we have enough long relievers.

the phillies, as long as i can remember, have always filled their lineups with cub killers. we've never gotten burrell out. he doesn't ever swing unless it's right down the middle, which happens twice a game against us.

49-4 (37-3 in hoops, 12-1 in football.) Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk. i don't hate ku football so much as i hate ku basketball. i was happy ku was playing in a bcs game, so long as mizzou was in the cotton bowl. but i'm sure my illini will be back, outlasting self's jayhawks in the tourney in the next few years to come. -

yeah, i don't know what all this pitching depth is about. having a lot of pitchers doesn't mean you have depth. you have to have good pitchers first. hill has proven that he's better than almost every single one of the pitchers you have, lou.
