  1. stat-padding. i hope rodgers gets his head pounded off the turf.
  2. i'm not worried about the packers' offense, we seem to have it figured out. but that defense is labile. one week i'll think dom capers is going to be fired and then the next week no one can block any of their players.
  3. and mike mccarthy is a total knob
  4. the packers have started with their short and intermediate passing game that won them 15 games last season.
  5. Mike Shaw had one. i was going to say that
  6. Pittsburgh, Cincy, Indy all lost. If New England loses to Seattle and San Diego loses to Denver, only Baltimore and Houston will be over .500. and Seattle in that scenario just delightful. this about sums it up.
  7. this about the worst coaching job i have ever seen
  8. i like brenly, generally. he's not bad, and a million times better than steve stone.
  9. I wouldn't mind it. It's not like he'd be taking catches away from anyone important.
  10. You know damn well this isn't how it works. Some head coaches come from a defensive background, others come from an offensive background. Whichever one it is, they generally oversee that side of the ball and the other is left more under the control of the coordinator. This is how it works throughout the league. Also, one unit is pretty much half the game (a little less, but they've been consistently excellent on special teams too), so being elite on one whole freaking side of the ball is pretty damn impactful and important. this is also a league that's built for parity. you can be balanced or you can be heavy on one side of the ball. the bears have chosen to put most of their resources into their defense and they've been successful doing that, and lovie has been the architect.

And, what's your point? I stated his team has been barely above average and sulley stupidly tried to claim the defensive rankings refute that. you're really pooping your pants in angst right now. but i can't say i didn't expect it.
  12. oh brother, gooney's calling everyone stupid again.
  13. and he'd definitely be in demand if he hit the market. he's not a guy anyone would view as a retread, but rather a guy who has fostered a culture of excellence over a long time in the league. he'd be highly sought after and at the top of any list for any open job.
  14. you've also changed your stance on lovie several times in the last few years.
  15. who the f cares what the entire defensive unit is ranked? ahahahahahahahaha
  16. He gets the most out of these guys, but they've been barely above average for years now. FO's weighted defensive rankings since Lovie arrived: 2012: 1 2011: 1 2010: 5 2009: 21 2008: 7 2007: 4 2006: 2 2005: 2 2004: 12 his defenses have been consistently excellent, not merely "barely above average for years now".
  17. Just nitpicking this point, but you don't think a lot of teams would like to have Lovie? There's a lot of bad head coaches in the league. if he were looking for work after this season, he would get the same attention that jeff fisher got.
  18. Goodness gracious. Yet another "Derrick Rose is dumb" crack. Who cares? He's not dumb on the court. So the guy couldn't break xxx on his SAT. Big deal. If he's so smart on the court, why did he tear his ACL? i heard derrek lee took his ACT for him.
  19. i extend lovie now, absolutely. he is a culture-builder and he's built one in chicago maybe unrivaled in the NFL. the team has an identity and pride that maybe only the ravens and the patriots equal or exceed. what's more is he's now reloaded a little bit with younger players, they get plays out of every single defensive player on a weekly basis. that's really amazing. you live with some stupid challenges because lovie is a top 5 coach in the NFL.

  21. inferior and wounded teams always seem to have us schemed exactly right.
  22. Jaylon Tate is better than James, but I think Groce took him for the Simeon pipeline. Can't hurt with Parker, either. Though no one is holding their breath on that one. Might mean xray ain't realistic.
