  1. he came to steal michael jordan's brain!
  2. And that skill/talent won't necessarily have to translate into a significantly improved pass rush. Sulley said the Bears addressed the pass rush problem. I don't think they've done much of anything to address it for this year. Wale/Brown/Anderson/Harris are going to have to play better to see an improve pass rush. we addressed the pass rush, i didn't say we completely fixed it or that it will be fixed immediately. what could we have done to fix it completely, really? i think it will be improved, and i'd rather see gilbert at one of the DE spots rather than backing up harris. the pick itself gives us a talented player that can get in the backfield, to me, that means we improved the pass rush. add that to melton, a guy with the type of measurables that lovie and marinelli drool over for better or for worse, and i think they've done enough in their minds to accomplish something. besides, our pass rush couldn't get much worse.
  3. I question how much they addressed it. They got another tackle who may be a poor man's Tommie Harris, but the Bears already have a poor man's Tommie Harris, Tommie Harris. The end is a total project who is very unlikely to be a significant force this year. If they are going to have improved pass rush, it's going to be with Marinelli getting more out of the 3 established ends. we'll see. i think gilbert will be more of a force this year than you do. it's not like he's this raw athlete that has never seen a football field before. as i said, he had 22 tackles for loss last year and as soul has suggested, he has very good technique, he's explosive and uses his arms well. in addition to having good technique, he's also a pretty strong guy in both his lower and upper body.
  4. we addressed our biggest need, which was, imo, the pass rush. cutler will make his receivers, i have absolutely no doubt about that, but he can't make the opposing quarterback get knocked down hard.
  5. yeah, but they don't have a team anymore. True. Even more of a reason for me to hate the Flames. i used to go watch them when they were the mallards and they had steve chelios. I used to like the Mallards more than the NHL. Their first two championship wins were some of my better early child hood memories (at least as far as sports go). There being no hockey in the QC rapes my childhood even if I don't live there anymore. i used to go see them all the time, too. it was exciting as hell, and i have the same sentiment as you do.
  6. yeah, but they don't have a team anymore. True. Even more of a reason for me to hate the Flames. ? http://www.qcflames.com/ It's pretty much unofficial that they are leaving. EDIT: It might even be official know. I'm not sure. they're moving to british columbia, i think. they lost 1.3 million dollars this year.
  7. yeah, but they don't have a team anymore. True. Even more of a reason for me to hate the Flames. ? http://www.qcflames.com/ they moved their minor league team out.

  10. is bret hart in the broadcast booth?
  11. i remember the 92-93 season when we won the president's trophy and then cujo stood on his head and the blues beat us in the first round. we dominated the play in the entire series, though. tough one to take.
  12. I concur! ol' bulin needs to keep it up, too.
  13. playing great defense, but a couple more goals would be nice. attack!
  14. don't tell me that those are crap chances. we are getting outplayed in every way right now.
  15. my guess is wale and hunter.
  16. Yes, I'm sure the Bears drafted him solely because of a youtube video, and did no other scouting or research. personally, i was more interested in his 22 tackles for loss last season. i don't think that gets enough pub. but the vid is awesome.
  17. i love how the celtics are full of backhanded compliments. "the bulls played well, but we played like crap." "a few plays here and there, and this series is over. but the you've got to hand it to the bulls......." bs. one play in game 2 and it's 3-1 bulls, so shut up and thank your lucky celtic stars that you're going to win in 7. oh yeah, and rondo is a nice little hard-nosed, gritty player, but in terms of ability, he's absolutely nowhere in the vicinity of derrick rose. he benefits from having a player like pierce and a shooter like allen on the floor, i can only imagine how he must look with garnett in there, too. derrick rose is doing it as the focal point of the defense, rondo is one of those guys that you say "let's make him beat us", and that's what they've been doing all series, especially at the end of the first overtime.
  18. i know you've probably already seen it by now, but it's still cool.
  19. you'll be very happy with davis, that's for sure.
  20. yeah robinson or fulton would have been nice in the 5th. but i really like knox, too. we're already deep at o-line, though it's a shame we didn't become deeper. we'll hit it hard next year. Haha. Maybe if the Bears drafted some OLinemen that could give Cutler a little time to throw, they wouldn't need to draft the fastest WR's in the draft. i really think we have the guys to give him enough time. orlando pace is one of the best pass blockers of all time, and he's got a few years left, i think. couple that with the newfound depth of the line in general and i think the line can wait a year. we have: LT- Pace LG- Omiyale C- Kreutz RG- Shaffer RT- Williams with Garza, Beekman, and Buenning on the bench. I would have liked one more, but that's a fairly deep line.
  21. how do you decide which teams to root for? cubs, rockets and 49ers??? joe montana ruined a generation of football fans. oh, but the marino sniffers are way worse, he never won anything. Give him the talent the 49ers had and Marino almost certainly would have won at least one ring. It's a little like saying Ron Santo isn't as good as Joe Morgan because Santo doesn't have a ring. i'm just talking about dolphin fans who are only dolphin fans because of dan marino, a quarterback who didn't win them one superbowl. if you're going to be a frontrunner, be a frontrunner. but i'm not looking to debate what he would have done with other players, that's all conjecture.
