  1. yeah, bernstein's definitely not a meatball, and his sources are better than ours. i doubt he'd just say something to say it, if anything, he'd be saying "yeah, the bulls have no chance to sign lebron or wade or bosh or stoudamire" to get the meatballs to call in and provide everyone with countless hours of entertainment. that's his mo.
  2. They don't have their guns loaded. Mainstream media people do not understand the rules of the NBA's salary cap, so no one should listen to what they say. Unless the Bulls make some miraculous and creative trades, they aren't remotely close to having room for two max free agents. If Salmons opts in for 2010, they may not even have room under the cap for one max guy. i thought wrigley22 laid out what would have to happen fairly well. they'll have enough space for one even with kirk and salmons.
  3. derrick rose makes chicago exponentially more desireable than new york and new jersey and maybe even cleveland. i think deng would have to be unloaded this year to fit two max guys under the cap, but that hamstrings us for this season. i just get worried about management deciding that the current team might be worth keeping together due to their recent successes. i want wade or lebron. of course any of the FA's would be nice, but wade and lebron are the guys we should be absolutely targeting above all else. i'm still spoiled from the jordan years but i want a perrenial contender in chicago and only t hose guys ensure it.
  4. boers and bernstein keep pissing me off and getting my hopes up by mentioning the L word when it comes to the offseason. they go so far as to say that they believe that the bulls have their guns loaded for a run at two max FA's, and generally b and b are the most cynical sports radio personalities in chicago. dear lord, i can't wait for the offseason, even if they whiff, it's bound to be interesting.
  5. I'd take their chances vs. Boston again. Even with Garnett, the Bulls can beat the Celtics. there's absolutely no way. We haven't come within 15 point of Boston everytime we've played them with Garnett. What makes you think we would all of the sudden? ANYTHING IS POSSIBLLLLEEEEEEE!!!!! Except for that. Celtics would steamroll the Bulls. yeah.
  6. i got a little squirrely when durant hit that 3.
  7. i don't know how the thunder is going to pull this out but they are.
  8. no one cares
  9. wow. catch the ball.
  10. i was attempting humor, there.
  11. Because Oakland was the only one with a contract offer. good point, but still....
  12. why on earth would anyone take the oakland job over the bears job?
  13. Sure, but it's still tough to judge the impact of an Indy coach. This guy is the WR coach. Indy churns out a lot of productive WR, however, how much of that has anything to do with the coach? Would any of these guys be nearly as good on another team? I'm not saying he's clearly a weak coach, but it's just hard to judge. Not only does Peyton call the plays, but any play has a much better chance of working with him as the QB, so the design isn't nearly as important. i like this, though. cutler is a superior talent to manning, physically, in every way. if he can be taught how to recognize coverages and change pass protections a fraction as well as manning does, the bears could be a solid contender for the rest of his career. i like the idea of cutler being turned loose and not restricted, and the way manning's protection develops as he's in the pocket, he could cause some damage running the ball if he were as agile as cutler.
  14. They made it to the Super Bowl with poor coaching, I don't see why it's so difficult to imagine them having a better 2010 with Lovie around. And we don't even know who all the coaches will be yet. i think they need a competent OC, but the defense essentially drives itself if the right players are there.
  15. martz qbs generally throw a lot of picks, correct?
  16. these guys can't catch all of a sudden.
  17. i thought the saints called that to.
  18. brees has just been a milquetoast in this game.
