  1. Twenty-eight wins and eight conference wins over three seasons is pretty damn close to burning. more burning plz
  2. yeah, i'm not satisfied with what has happened to iu since sampson, i want to see the program burn and i want to see tears of blood scorch the earth with their sorrow.
  3. in his defense, though, being able to throw the football is more pertinent to playing quarterback than eating frosted mini-wheats.
  4. thomas is definitely going pro, and yes, next year will be worse. cheer up, Snood, you'll find some players somewhere. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/suleyman21/NCAABasketballTournamentChampionshi.jpg
  5. kansas city would be a great fit for him
  6. i would have a lot more faith in this guy if his name was really calib instead of caleb. caleb sucks. what about carob? can i call him carob?
  7. that is to say he falls down a lot when forced to take drops.
  8. Not only does he lack experience in the system, but it doesn't cater to him either. He doesn't have much of an arm and is immobile. He would do nothing but throw 5 yard slants and dump offs. To be fair, Kurt Warner was almost completely immobile and ran the Martz offense to perfection. And obviously, Martz doesn't mind immobility as he hand-picked Nathan Enderle to draft, and he can't run a lick. Right, but Warner could throw. Orton can't throw, and he's immobile. It's not that Martz demands mobility, but surviving with this line requires mobility, and thriving under Martz requires an arm. orton can throw, he just doesn't have a quick release and martz's offense requires the QB to go under center almost exclusively, so his problem with doing the grapevine would hurt him. can't wait to see him with a bottle of jack at a local establishment, though.
  9. i'm not a lions fan at all, but it was kind of cool to see kevin smith playing his heart out last week.
  10. i was just watching the highlights from the NFC championship game, hanie can make the throws, he really can, and he really looks good in the pocket or out of the pocket. i'm telling you, we may not even miss a beat, as much of a man-crush i have on jay.
  11. and he didn't yell at dan sanzenbacher for dropping 3 passes on 3rd down! born leader!
  12. HE REMINDS ME OF FRAN TARKENTON!
  13. 3 INTs is productive i think he freaks everybody out and we win the game. when i say freak out, i mean throws for 250 yards, 3 tds 1 int, and makes a couple of plays that get the meatballs all hot and bothered and talking about how he should have been starting all along.
  14. as long as martz isn't tempted to put them on the field ala todd collins, i'm ok with it. my biggest fear is we get another lurchy old guy who can't get rid of the ball and can't move his feet.
  15. There's nothing like a point/counterpoint to demonstrate which perspective is correct or has a better return for the Cubs. Unless of course you would let Davearm go unrebutted... oh jeez get over yourself doug
  16. The only thing about Green Bay is that they also have the whole perfect season thing going. If that's still intact in week 16 regardless of whether they clinced the division and byes, I could see them playing their starters throughout. i really really hope they care about the undefeated thing. a lot.
  17. Cutler was yelling after the play. The announcers thought he was yelling at the refs for a previous play, but he was clearly yelling at Knox that he needs to get up and finish the play. Falling is one thing, but if he'd gotten up immediately, he could've tackled the defender with the ball. he was actually yelling at the assistant in charge of getting the play in. but i think we're talking about 2 different plays. the play i'm talking about was when he held two fingers up and said "that's 2", simms thought he was yelling at the "ref", which was stupid because he was obviously calling to someone on the sideline, and players don't generally yell at the line judges. after the interception, he was seen on the sideline yelling at knox and pounding on his shoulder pads.
  18. it's the same uncle that e-mails me thinly-veiled racist right-wing propaganda and is currently plotting the demise of jane fonda.
  19. yes. my uncle thought that hanie should have started the season as the starter.
  20. Let's temper the Hanie to Kurt Waner comparisons. Maybe Hanie can be our 2005 Orton and he can do enough to allow our defense and special teams to beat Oakland, KC, Denver, Seattle and Minny. i never compared warner and hanie. my point is that martz has had well-prepared backups ready to go in the past with warner and bulger both being discovered after injury.
  21. i think the defense is going to be insanely focused going down the stretch here, it's all on them, and i'm sure that's the way they will see it. you're going to see urlacher and briggs driving these guys like a mule team.
  22. i will point out that martz has had to replace his anointed savior quarterback before with an even more untested backup who was bagging groceries not long before he signed. this time hanie has got a week to prepare and get comfortable with the receivers. he's already comfortable in the pocket, he's shown great poise under pressure in the playoffs, stepping up in the pocket and getting the ball downfield. he's also mobile enough to escape danger if need be.
  23. His talent is irreplaceable at this point in the season. maybe. he's my quarterback, but i think it's hanie time. you'll see.
