  1. Arkansas's got some current/future weapons. Smith is the real deal at tailback. Joe Adams is in his fifth college game and starting to look like a stud. DJ Williams is one of the top tight ends in the nation. And Ryan Mallett So there's promise there. I barely care if they win another game, but they have to progress. Do something wild like...score in the first half. There's definitely some young talent there. What year is Smith? Smith's a junior. Adams freshman, Williams soph.

  3. Exactly. It's bizarre. On a positive note, I didn't even know I could watch this game for free on yahoo.
  4. Apparently Arkansas has to do that every time they play Florida. :banghead:
  5. Yeah, last year was a real down year for Josh Hamilton.
  6. This is meaningless to Al Davis. Are you under some strange impression that Al Davis uses logic? Come on Vanilla Ice, I expected more out of you than this. I knew that he wasn't going to be given a chance and Davis would do whatever he wanted (usually the wrong thing). But, I was curious as to whether he was a good coach. From what I can tell he is. Al Davis basically wants a yes-man who will do exactly what he wants. Lane Kiffin isn't this type of man, so he go the boot. For the talent he had in Oakland, though, I thought Kiffin did a good job. I'm sure soccer10k can expound on the point more, but I would like to see Kiffin get another NFL shot. I think he'd have success. Kiffin absolutely deserves another head coaching gig. Like you said, with the (lack of) talent Kiffin had, he did a fine job. I mean, last year he was stuck with Culpepper and Josh McCown at QB along with a rookie who missed training camp in Russell. Not to mention that their receivers were Jerry Porter and Ronald Curry. This year it's Javon Walker, Curry, Ashlie Lelie (who was cut by the 49ers during training camp) and Johnnie Lee Higgins. That's to go along with a rookie quarterback. None of this was Kiffin's fault and there's no way any other owner in football fires him at this point. I really hate Al Davis. Jury's still out on Tony Sparano, but I really wish Al had done this at the end of last year so the Dolphins could've taken a shot at him.
  7. Who? the correct response is "who dat?" No, I seem to recall having heard of a guy named Deuce who played for the Saints, but I've seen the Saints this year and hadn't seen any proof.
  8. Who?
  9. AP Top 25 1. Oklahoma (43) 4-0 1,599 2. Alabama (21) 5-0 1,565 3. LSU 4-0 1,466 4. Missouri (1) 4-0 1,453 5. Texas 4-0 1,362 6. Penn State 5-0 1,252 7. Texas Tech 4-0 1,105 8. 10. let's see PSU beat at least one more good team before we get too excited. I'm as big a PSU homer as anyone on this board, but Illinois is the only team to give them a tough fight so far (and they aren't the toughest game on the schedule). Talk to me in a few weeks So who gets it? USC and their one loss? Texas and their toughest game being UTEP? One loss Florida or Georgia? One loss Ohio State? BYU and their signature victory over UCLA? South Florida? Texas Tech and their signature win against Nevada? Honestly, you can twist the top 4 around just about any way and have a legit argument...the clustercoitus begins at #5.
  11. More I think about it, the more I think Penn State should be #5. I can't think of anybody who deserves it more.
  12. My top 10 is something like: 1. Oklahoma 2. Bama 3. LSU 4. Mizzou 5. Texas 6. USC 7. Penn State 8. Florida 9. Georgia 10 South Florida Florida lost by 1 to a pretty good team. Georgia lost to a very good team, but it was at home and a blowout (in spite of the final score). I'd definitely put UGA behind Florida at this point. The problem comes in that nobody beneath has really done anything to deserve moving up so far. BYU has dominated terrible competition, which is fine, but they also almost lost to a bad Washington team. Texas Tech hasn't played anybody. I value a good loss more than an empty win this early in the season while things are still shaking out. That said, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see both Georgia and Florida out of the top 10, and to see BYU and Texas Tech in. I honestly don't want to put Texas that high, either, but I couldn't figure out where else to put them.
  13. This is going exactly how i epxected to when I saw Bama's huge lead.
  14. How weird is it that Texas has won 3 separate games by a score of 52-10?
  15. dont worry. they have the worst kicking game in the world.need to get it within the 20 yard line for their kicking game to make it. theyre that bad. Arkansas says hi. our kicker can't get it to the 20 on a kickoff Has your kicker gotten benched twice in four games? He hasn't made a field goal ths season, and has missed a PAT. This is unreal. Tejada was great last year. Did somebody remove his leg or something?

  17. We doing this? Nah, I just thought the pic I posted was really weird. What's weird about an OSU player catching a touchdown pass while crapping out a USC player?
  18. it's more like 0% or undefined since classes start next week. Ok, seriously, can I go to a Pac-10 school? Seems like they all start insanely late. They also end insanely late..that's the quarter system for you.
  19. Hell yeah.
  20. Maybe the Hogs can pull a Dolphins and win by the around the margin they lost by last week.
  21. From what I can tell, direct snaps to Ronnie Brown = automatic TD. So I've heard. I can't wait to see highlights of the game.
  22. I just woke up to the Dolphins leading 35-13. I mean, I'm in no way disappointed, but after the offense howried the bed for two straight weeks...how'd this happen? After the defense...man.
  23. Way to go Hogs! At least Michael Smith is continuing to kick some ass...nearly 200 total yards from scrimmage. But the defense is just plain horrible so far, and they wont' be able to beat any decent teams without some major fixes on that side of the ball.
  24. That's a great Robert Parish "What's that smell?" face.
  25. That's the thing, though. Owings doesn't stink as a pitcher...well, he didn't stink last year--he was pretty average. And he's only 25. He still has potential as a pitcher, though clearly not as much as he does as a hitter. Thing is, since he can only pitch one day, they really should try to find a way to have him in the lineup on the off days.
