  1. Woo! Go Sonny Weems! I think he can be a pretty darn good player in the NBA on a team that has the patience to develop him.
  2. I'll take 12-3 in the playoffs. And yeah, if I was a Laker hater, I'd be pissed right now, because the Lakers are only likely to get better with the return of Bynum last year...they'll just be unfair then.
  3. The thing about it is you have to be sure that his other advantages (athleticism, wingspan, innate rebounding ability, etc.) make up for any shortcomings with height. Especially when the alternative will be an athletic freak and a better bet to dominate at his position. The bolded is not relevant to what I'm talking about...I was responding specifically the the assertation that Beasley can't play PF if he's 6'7". I've already made it clear that I think Rose is the better pick for a number of reasons.
  4. Kidd is all of the above: future hall of famer, exception to the rule, overrated. (At least, current Kidd, who's more turnover prone, defensively declining, and an even worse shooter (if you can believe that) than ever.) My point is that his height isn't extremely important if he has the skills and athleticism to play the position. We've seen enough small PFs and big SFs in the league to know this by now. I'm not saying ti wouldn't be easier if he were the taller possibility. I just don't think it's anywhere near as much a detriment as it's made out to be. It would help if he were stronger, but he can improve there over time. And if, at worst, you end up with a small forward who's a rebound machine...well, there are worse scenarios to deal with. I'm sure Bulls fans won't be heartbroken if they end up with a more athletic Shawn Marion. Besides, arm length is going to be much, much more important than a two inch potential fluctuation in his height. He's not going to be snagging rebounds with the top of his head. I've always wondered why this isn't really talked about more often.
  5. What? He won't be an NBA power forward if he is 6'7" or 6'8". What?
  6. I love Eric Gordon's athleticism and burst, but I don't think he's much of a basketball player right now. He has as much upside as Rose in my estimation, but is far more raw. I think he'll take years longer to be a major contributor than Rose will. Granted, I never really saw him early on when he wasn't shooting 37% from the field. But that's precisely why I question his ability to contribute early on. i think that everyone knows that i like gordon, despite being an illini fan. but i was being a little facetious. though i think gordon will have a long and fruitful nba career and will be a lottery pick. Ah, so that's what that is. I do know some people that are crazy high on Gordon, though, so you never know.

  8. We could be seeing a road win! Derek Fisher is playing out of his mind on defense.
  9. Cheap Shot Bob strikes again.
  10. Sit your ass down! That was hilarious. Happy Mother's Day!

  12. I would take Deron too, but remember Parker is only 25 and still improving. Where will Augustine fall into this mix in a couple of years. I won't be surprised to see him right behind Paul, Rose and Deron. What do you guys think of Conley Jr.? I think he could be a guy who makes the step up the next couple of years. Oddly enugh, he may end up having to battle for a job, considering that Javaris crittenton (acquired in the Gasol trade) has made a pretty good impression. Crit could also play 2, though. It'll be interesting to see how they try to put that team back together...

I won't be surprised to see him right behind Paul, Rose and Deron. And Deron won't be 24 for another month...that's not really an advantage for Parker, unless you just happen to think that Deron is closer to his ceiling than Parker is.
  14. And I do. I also respect that Derek Fisher has done the same thing, but I'd give you three Derek Fishers if you offered me one Deron Williams.
  15. water is wet. NBA PGs: Paul Williams rest of league isn't this writing off steve nash and tony parker a tad early? Nah, not at all. Nash is probably a half notch below Williams, but in my eyes, there's a sharp dropoff from there to where the Baron Davis, Tony Parker, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, and Jose Calderons are. I still think Parker is better than Deron, but that could probably change as early as next year. I do agree that Deron's better than the rest of the guys you listed. What exactly is Parker better at than Deron?

  17. Is it? I...haven't even heard of that movie. Funny.
  18. Wow...never heard that term domestically (gotta love double-translated words, by the way).
  19. water is wet. NBA PGs: Paul Williams rest of league (I expect Derrick Rose to be up there with them within two years) And hurt Kobe + no Turiaf (Pau was in foul trouble, and played a bunch of minutes, and Ronny made a big impact in the short time he played) really hurt the Lakers.
  20. They've been ridiculous on more than just those.
  21. Eh, could be related to the fact that there are a lot more regular season baseball games than playoff basketball games.
  22. That ejection was completely ridiculous.
