  1. I think I want to have his babies.
  2. Cherry needs to stretch out that lat. I'm sure he's never thought to stretch. I was not being serious when I said that. It was more of a joke than anything. hahahahahahaha
  3. How can they call him back so quick? In case of an injury to a player on the 25 man you can recall a player w/o having to wait ten days. In this case I hope/think it is an "injury". someone turned out the clubhouse lights and then jabbed Cesar in the eye.
  4. I am going to quote this post approximately two hundered times before the summer is over
  5. How did Onyewu fare during the Euro season? I'd be hesitant to have him fall from "stud defender/central back of the future" to "oaf off the bench" based just on the Gold Cup. he didn't look good for Newcastle. hasn't been in form in a while
  6. i can get on board with that and sure, i'd do a premiership fantasy league
  7. +1 for dipping your member
  8. Isn't that the problem with EJ, though? That he hasn't developed at all since 2004? BTW, I totally called tonights final score earlier in the thread. I said it would be much like the US/Germany friendly last spring. From what I gather, it sounds like it was almost the exact same game, with Gaven playing the Kerry Zavagnin role. The difference is that we got nothing out of that Germany game since Arena was plainly [expletive] at the end of his tenure. We got some questions answered tonight I think. Namely that Bornstein can defend against someone like Messi, which amazed the crap out of me, Feilhaber and Clark can hold their own against a world-class midfield, Conrad and DeMerit as well are more than serviceable (though I feel we knew this already probably). We also learned that Mapp is completely shut down going forward by right backs the caliber of Zanetti (which I doubt Beasely would have been), and Eddie Gaven and Marvell Wynne don't have it, especially Gaven. I'm intrigued by Beckerman, and want to see more.
  9. Upon rewatching some of the game, I will temper my "Johnson sucked" argument. Johnson is tantalizing, because he obviously has the talent, and periodically makes good runs. However, he holds the ball up when he should be taking off and blowing by people, and there's at least three or four times a game where you watch a ball he could get to sail harmlessly by because he's just standing there. he has no killer instinct. In other words, the same thing we've been saying about EJ for a few years now.
  10. Beckerman looked like he had no idea what to do with the space Argentina gave him, and then I realized that no one was making any runs. none whatsoever. I give him credit for having the presence to hang onto the ball in those situations instead of immediately forcing it.
  11. Let me add that i was also impressed by Olsen. Gaven bites, and should never wear the US shirt again. All the subs were very unimpressive, although Beckerman did appear composed on the ball once or twice.
  12. I was impressed with DeMerit, Mapp (defensively), Clark, and Conrad until he got tired. Feilhaber wasn't bad, but I expect that out of him now. Twellman and Johnson both sucked. Bornstein was very inspired when he was up against Messi, impressively so, but sucked after they moved Messi to the other side so he could abuse Gaven and Wynne. Keller is slow nowadays.
  13. 8:45 est on goltv. Boo to Univision and Telemundo not picking this game up in my area. come to the Globe and watch
  14. He is? April .280 .337 .341 .678 May .205 .263 .329 .592 June .196 .275 .304 .579 yeah!
  15. Did Brazil bring their A team? I only watched for about 10 minutes but I didn't see Kaka or Ronaldinho out there. And did Mexico bring their A team? Kaka, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Adriano are all not playing. But it was still a potent lineup. Mexico definitely brought their A team (minus Borghetti, since he blew his hammy vs. the US).
  16. not enough. We had to wait for him to really suck first.
  17. got a Biscuits shirt for Christmas last year.
  18. I'm neither Italian nor Mexican, and my name isn't Cristiano Ronaldo. So no flopping for me. As an American player, I earn my fould the old fashioned way: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2006/soccer/specials/world_cup/2006/06/20/mcbride.apology/t1_mcbride.jpg I hate, HATE Daniele De Rossi and am still ticked he was allowed to play in the World Cup final. He got a 4 match ban. Anything more would have been way too harsh. That play was very much out of character for him.
  19. I'll cut you for saying that.
  20. I paid $38 a seat, including fees, right when they went on sale, and was ten rows from the field behind the North goal (from now on to be known as the Benny Feilhaber goal) Other tickets in the corners/midfield were $60 and $75 plus fees, I think. Tickets were very hard to come by the last several days (it sold out soon after the semis on Thursday) The north end of the field was a lonely place for an American fan to be. I was in the far corner in the 5th row. Awesome seats. There were a fair number of us, just not as many as the south end. But it was all worth it to be so close to the Benny volley.
  21. youtube it. it's a thing of beauty

  23. I hope they aren't holding their breath for that to happen. Considering the Sox weren't even allowed to lodge a protest, I don't think so either.
