  1. OK, I've had a little while to gather myself after the initial shock of that lineup. I've calmed down. My thoughts are now this: Losing two games with pitiful lineups while keeping the rookies and possibly Hairston on the bench all day tomorrow with the exception of maybe a couple of pinch-hitting appearances will hopefully get Dusty F. Baker fired. That is all.
  2. LOL, actually she wants to see 50 first dates. I want to see Dawn of the Dead, you guess who's winning this one! 50 first dates isn't too shabby. Sandler makes it atleast halfway worth watching. 50 first dates made me physically ill. Or maybe it was the two pitchers of beer I had at the Vic while watching it.
  3. I have reached the point where I would rather it not rain. I want it to remain sunny in Atlanta, and I want this team exposed for all to see. I want Perez and Macias to go a combine 0-8 with 7 strikeouts and a groundout to the pitcher. I want Smoltz to throw a no-no or at least a shutout (how couldn't he, facing this lineup?) And I want the tribune Co. to be so embarrassed by this loss that they have to fire Dusty F. Baker and blow up this horrible season afterward.
  4. Enjoy Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. Be sure to thank Dusty F. Baker when you're done.
  5. Wow. I put up my suggested lineup finguring that it was about as bad as you could get. And I was actually bested by one Dusty F. Baker, Cubs manager and moron extraordinaire. I will put this suggestion to everyone: from now on we should refer to Dusty as Dusty F. Baker, in homage to Bucky F. Dent and Aaron F. Boone. I hate you, Dusty F. Baker. My wife, who still does not fully understand the concept of a force out vs. a situation in which the runner must be tagged, openly questions your managing decisions. You flat out suck, Dusty F. Baker.
  6. Hairston - 2B Perez - SS Burnitz - RF Ramirez - 3B Walker - 1B Holly - LF Patterson - CF Barrett - C Prior - P
  7. Maddux is leading your team in wins and will probably win 15 again this season. Zambrano only has 5 wins on the season and has not faired so well of late. Z has given up 20 ER in the last 5 games. I know there are a lot of variables that go into winning games, but to me it all comes down to getting a W. Maddux knows how to win games just look at his track record. Speaking of track record, Wood is always injuried. Maddux is a very durable player and will get his 200 innings. Thus deserving the money. Would you give Jeff Suppan $9 mil?
  8. It'd take something special to pick Dusty off in the dug-out with a foul ball. Is it too much to hope Corey could do it and redeem himself? Dusty got hit by a foul ball last year. hit by Jose Macias, no less. Yet he still plays Macias. I don't get it.
  9. http://www.acmewebpages.com/graphics/riegert.jpg "Forget it, he's rolling."
  10. I was always taught that once you turned 16 bringing a glove was no longer an option.
  11. I'm not so sure about the Astros being sellers. After their last month, they might have some delusions.
  12. I'm pretty sure Corey is out of options and can't be sent down.
  13. Worst possible throw by Holly. not on line, no chance to get the runner. plus, he rainbowed it so it couldn't be cut off to hold the runner at 2nd.
  14. http://home.hccnet.nl/a.tonkelaar/avatars/MontyPython_King_Arthur.png God be praised!
  15. Um, Arod is a shortstop to the other 29 teams in baseball
  16. Wind is blowing right to left, slightly in, at 5 to 10
  17. Prime date bleachers cost $38 apiece, so I figure you did very well. How much do they sell them aronud the streets of Wrigley? It's hard to say, been a while since I've bought on the street. For a weekend game, up until maybe a half hour before game time, they'll go for $75 apiece or thereabouts. When it gets closer to the game bleacher seat prices plummet because there aren't any seats left.
  18. Very uncalled for, yes. Just what are you talking about? Unless it's some popular quote, that's definitely out of line. Come on Jon, all the kids are saying it these days! I'll be the first to admit that I was saying it during the US-England soccer game at Soldier Field earlier this summer. And surprise! I was right. Of course, that was in reference to the soccer rivalry and not a pointed racist comment, so it doesn't actually apply to this situation.
  19. Aramis up. Barrett, Hairston and Dubois can pinch hit next inning (or later this inning). It's not over yet. Note that i didn't say they would pinch hit.
  20. I keep having to emphasize that giving Neifi's splits for June does a disservice to his suckitude. check the stats since the return from California. 13 for 87 with 2 walks... wow. Those numbers sure do warrant him batting at the top of the order, don't they? .148 BA, .169 OBP. He should switch with Corey.
  21. Pat says Kenny Rogers got 20 games. 4 starts. Plus a fine. Not too bad.
  22. Jim Leyland wants to manage again. I want Jim Leyland. he could smoke his cigs and then blow smoke in the faces of the bench players.
