  1. No wonder you're not a manager. That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. He's got to bat lower to protect people.
  2. Oh Boy. Andy Mazur is on his own. This could be bad.
  3. This 7th inning stretch is not nearly as painful as the majority of ones that involve Ron Santo.
  4. I had to make that comment about Good Novoa, didn't I?
  5. Yep. sportsline says that macias is still in MLB Gameday says neifi's now at third and Cedeno's at short.
  6. I usually just swear. me too. my girlfriend won't watch with me anymore, which is good because she asks too many damned questions anyways. Yeah. My wife feels that way about me watching Cubs games. She thinks I'm torturing myself. She also feels that way about me complaining about the ESPN commentators. She asks questions like "Do you hate every sports commentator?" and "Do you really think you could do a better job than them?" The answers to those questions are Yes and Yes. i don't think she likes those answers.
  7. Even though we all say that brenly is an idiot, and that he wasn't a good manager, watching Johnnie B. at work must absolutely drive him nuts.
  8. Good. Someone within the Cubs organization needs to step up and say it. Patterson has been horrible this year but in no way is Todd Hollandsworth getting anywhere near the production that is needed out of a corner outfield spot. I don't really care what position they play as far as their production is concerned. All I care about is winning games, and it's pretty clear that Todd is helping us to win games more than Corey is. Now, if we can upgrade in left, I'd love to do it, don't get me wrong. But at this point, I don't think the Cubs will contend with Patterson playing everyday. well you are right and wrong. They need to upgrade, but they will contend because the pitchign is that good. I disagree, I don't think our offense is good enough to support our great pitching. And that doesn't make me "wrong" either. That's my opinion. I don't know how you can look at today's lineup and type that with a straight face. huh?

And our bullpen is just plain bad.
  10. I'd be surprised if Dusty is actually watching this one. he probably just filled out the lineup card, then shrugged his shoulders and left.
  11. Come on. Those pitches aren't even close to the zone. Even if he swings and somehow makes contact with that, it certainly won't be good contact. Corey's been robbed out of 2 ABs. Agreed. Has someone got McMichael on the speed dial for the 7th inning stretch? That was the greatest 7th inning stretch ever. the best part was Angel Hernandez angrily squinting up at the broadcast booth while everyone laughed at him.
  12. Hank White got a hit, Prior sac'd him to 2nd
  13. He got his hit yesterday... That was his June hit. Flames was hoping for his July hit. As detailed above he actually doubled his June expectations yesterday, so he's not required to get a July hit.
  14. Schneider got drilled in the knee with a foul
  15. When i started reading that I thought you meant Pat Hughes. And after what happened last year with the tv team I took it seriously...
  16. Pat: Aramis is not in the lineup, but the word is he could pinch hit later on... Ron (interrupting): Wellllllll, the word is he could pinch hit (abruptly stops talking)
  17. Nah - he literally has a huge melon - it's a size 8, I believe. It's like Sputnik. Spherical but pointy in certain parts.
  18. In all fariness, though, I think Milwaukee made the switch after Remmy was announced. Not according to Pat and Ron.

  20. Aaaaaaaand we're bringing in Remlinger to face a lefty.
