  1. HBP hit the guys hand on a check swing... :x last out of the inning is a ground out...10Ks though 4
  2. Fan gets hit in the back when ducking at a fly foul ball... Followed by a questionable HBP
  3. Over/Under of Wood getting another 3Ks this inning?
  4. Agreed. Love the early display of control...hopefully he can have the same strike/ball ratio when he gets back to the big team.
  5. Racist! Oh, nevermind...forgot this was the Woody thread, thought I was still in rants... I was waiting for tha predictable attempt at a joke. That's the psychic in you coming out :)
  6. 48, so 13 pitches in the 3rd... Also, 35 strikes, so he was 10 strikes to 3 balls in the 3rd
  7. Should be 10Ks...got a called ball 4 on a full count with a pitch right down the middle!
  8. For those not following the game thread, 9Ks through 3 innings for Wood!
  9. Top of 3rd, 7th K... Peoria's fielders must be getting bored :D
  10. What's his pitch count through 2? Heard answer on radio...35 pitches through 2, that means he threw 23 pitches in the second inning :x
  11. Jody would be fired before the game was over if that happened. If Baker did it Woody's first start back, he'd be okay though...
  12. Racist! Oh, nevermind...forgot this was the Woody thread, thought I was still in rants...
  13. Bellhorn had a very good year for us in '02. He stunk so bad we practically gave him away in '03. He came back and had a resurgence for the Red Sox in '04, but returned to sucking in '05. So far in '06, he's posting an .883 OBP. Is he starting to remind anyone else of Farnsy, with his good year-bad year-good year thing he has going?
  14. Neither Baylor nor Baker had ever had this team playing fundamentally sound baseball. I was really hoping Grady Little was set to take over for Baker, but LA snatched him before Dusty's contract ran out. Maybe that will open the door for Joe G to come here after this debacle of a season is over in Florida.
  15. Then let's just shut Wood now for the season. He will probably get hurt anyway. Isn't it about tiem for Tommy John 2? Wait he changed his mechanics! Call me naive, but...he's had his shoulder operated on, his knee operated on, his elbow operated on...he's never needed any one part operated on twice. There's not much left to fix on him. Here's to hoping he's healthy for the rest of his career! *note the key word "hoping..."
  16. I would never wish anyone to suffer through that alone...I think I'll join you.
  17. Where is Wood making his start at tomorrow? I forgot if he was going to Iowa or wherever? Peoria tomorrow, Iowa next time out. I'm not hopeful that Wood will be in top form the moment he returns to the Cubs, but I'm hoping that just getting one of our big guns back will infuse some much needed energy into the club once he gets there. I'm for bringing him up after the Peoria start if he looks at least somewhat sharp.
  18. At least we're still better than our AAAA club...
  19. Where is Wood making his start at tomorrow? I forgot if he was going to Iowa or wherever?
  20. No one is ever going to lump Buck Coats in with the elite prospects in the game, but, with that said... He's killing AAA this year. He's 23, so it's not like he's that old or has reached AAAA status before doing so. He's got a .360 average, and a .406 OBP, which indicates decent, but not great, discipline or walk rate. He's not hitting for a ton of power, but he's looking like a solid hitter thus far. Buck is a guy I always kind of liked, but never realistically thought he'd hold too much value for the organization. Could he be pulling a Ronny Cedeno? Ronny was always all glove no bat until one day the light seemed to come on while he was at AA. Or is this just an early season fluke?
