No one is ever going to lump Buck Coats in with the elite prospects in the game, but, with that said... He's killing AAA this year. He's 23, so it's not like he's that old or has reached AAAA status before doing so. He's got a .360 average, and a .406 OBP, which indicates decent, but not great, discipline or walk rate. He's not hitting for a ton of power, but he's looking like a solid hitter thus far. Buck is a guy I always kind of liked, but never realistically thought he'd hold too much value for the organization. Could he be pulling a Ronny Cedeno? Ronny was always all glove no bat until one day the light seemed to come on while he was at AA. Or is this just an early season fluke?
