  1. We are talking about Geoff Blum here, right? The same guy who is batting .239 on the season with a .715 OPS?
  2. Would have had a runner on 3rd with Blanco up. That fly ball could have won it. You would've bunted with Alfonso Soriano? For real? That shallow pop up by Blanco that was caught by a guy with an absolute cannon for an arm would have won it?
  3. And my predicted inning for the 9021 pre-emption! Ah, 90210, as more and more networks realize that modern writing doesn't suck enough, so they might as well rehash crappy shows from the past as well.
  4. Just walk across and forfeit Lou. You've been trying to the entire game.
  5. No wonder Lee keeps hitting ground balls, he has to defend against the ankle strike.
  6. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
  7. Time for this ball to be Blacowned.
  8. Finally Blum misses one. Bight me Blum.
  9. Those are very nice numbers. You want a guy in scoring position. You can say what you want, but statistics show that bunting decreases your chances of winning That's very nice. Good for statistics. Bill Plashke, is that you? Nothing like utterly distorting my point. In THIS SITUATION, you bunt. uh no, based on this exact situation, it still lowers your win probability. Wait so this situation is exactly the same as the one you posted? Oh, wait... IT IS! You know what else is funny? And by funny, I mean horrifying? Bob Howry's slugging against since the AS Break: .627 Why is Long Ball Bob still on the team? Comic relief?
  10. Sigh. This game is not going to end well...especially not with Lou trying to forfeit it.
  11. Because you've hit into four double plays already today. And that impacts this how?
  12. Cooper brings in his only lefty to face ARam, DeRo, and the PH? That confuses and irritates me....wait, no...confuses but delights me. Damn it DeRo...
  13. I never thought I'd say this, but come on Ayala.
  14. Whats insane: Lee's GO/AO this year is 1.46. His previous high? 1.26 in 70 games with the Marlins in 99. Prior to this year with the Cubs it was .96, .89, 1.09, 1.03. This suggests a mechanical problem with his swing where he isn't getting around on balls as well as he used to. Could it be tied to his wrist injury?
  15. wait, I resemble that remark Yes, you do.
  16. Goes high and somehow gets a called strike. Response? Go higher and ensure the walk. Time for Sneaky Power.
  17. He was brought in to face Byrdak, I don't know why they left him in to face Sampson.
  18. Only if they stop trying to pull everything into the seats.
  19. Well, the good news is that the bottom of the order is up for the Cubs, so maybe we can get batters who aren't trying to pull everything.
  20. It's a 2-run game. That said, Gaudin didn't pitch last night, right? He did, but only 2/3 of an inning. The only BP pitcher to not pitch yestaurday was Howry.
  21. Jesus Lou. Lets see: Marmol does well, you ride him. He starts to struggle. Wood gets a blister, is out for a while. Marmol, filling in at Closer for Wood, gets more time off, stops struggling. Wood comes back, you go back to riding Marmol. Any guess on whats next in the cycle?
  22. Good job Johnson. Duke walks two straight batters and hasn't been near the zone except for one pitch, and you swing at the first one... Despite how good this team can be, there are days where I'm sure they are trying to be the stupidest team in baseball.
