  1. Did you think a game between two woefully inept franchises merits more than that? 2. Gammons just said Prior back in about 2 weeks? Any truth to this?
  3. you get MASN? Who's your cable provider? Or do you have Satellite?
  4. HOW DARE THEY NOT THROW RIGHT DOWN THE CENTER! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! John Kruk's brain just melted, he tried to add 2 and 2...
  5. Good luck homering at Shea. Huh? he's playing in Houston...
  6. Oh, and the local broadcast (I'm back in DC now) is on Mid-Atlantic Sports Net, WHICH I DON'T GET ON COMCAST, BECAUSE IT ISN'T CSN. dang it.
  7. Because Soriano bats leadoff. Thats were he bats, DONT CHALLENGE IT. WHY ARE YOU CHALLENGING IT?!
  8. Phil Rogers is probably most of the voters.
  9. I saw it in SI.
  10. Two things come to mind that Cox does that Dusty doesn't do 1) Play young players. 2) Call out his players when they dog it. My favorite was a few years back when Andruw Jones obviously didn't hustle on a blooper and let it land in front of him for a single. Cox replaced him in the middle of the inning. The first one has much more of an effect on wins and losses IMO, but the second one is something a manager should still do. I think #2 happened last year. That's is the kind of manager we need. I dont care if you are a superstar or not, you need to hustle on any play and that is the managers job to make sure the player does that. Baker only does that to the rookies but he doesn't hold the veterans accountable for jack. I wanted Bynum pulled after he dropped the ball in San Diego. On, and to the guy who said that Dusty is a motivator, WATCH THE TEAM, THEY ARN'T MOTIVATED AT ALL.
  11. Yea his OPS isn't so great, and his slugging has tailed off remarkably this year. He still is an OBP machine, but the sudden major drop off in SLG% makes me think he might have been on something. 23 of their first 37 have been at home, where no left handers do any good slugging wise. Also, of their 14 road games, 9 were in the 1st/2nd week of the season. Just because someone is struggling to hit homers doesn't automatically mean they were on something.
  12. so they just showed the pregame press confrence with Dusty, and he got asked about losing, and managed, within like two sentances had changed teh subject to it being mothers day.

  14. I wonder what "philosophy" Hendry will use to assemble next year's team. He's already tried sluggers, chemistry and defense. Maybe next season he'll realize he likes guys who are productive players. I won't get my hopes up. And once again we get to the root of the problem. HENDRY DOESN'T HAVE A PLAN/HAS NO CLUE WHAT HE'S DOING. man, it pisses me off when Hendry is giving a press conference and no one asks him about his plan and why it keeps changing...

  16. Come on, the last time I checked the players making the money on the field ultimately determine wins and losses. How bout we blame our "sure thing" closer who gave up two hits before the Piazza round tripper. Sure, I didn't agree with Dusty having Hairston SAC the runner to third in the 8th or Barrett not pitch hitting for Blanco, but we still had a two-run lead at that point. This lost is on DEMPSTER having A, AS IN ONE, bad outing. Don't you agree that it would have been smart for Dusty to be putting Dempster in for some innings in non-save situations to keep him sharp? You mean like the 3 in the last 6 days, one every 2 days? This being his 2nd day in a row of use?

  18. Hendry likes guys like that, guys who can, supposedly, play multiple positions. Basically, Hendry likes bad players for no apparent reason.
  19. The problem is that Hendry's "plan" seems to change every year, and even then is usually not that good. His plan seems to be copy whatever won the year before and hope it works.
  20. Soriano being traded to NY would be hilarious.
  21. Shows up in the win column? WHERE? THERE HAS ONLY BEEN 1 WIN IN THE LAST TEN GAMES. Fire this hack now.
  22. nice fielding Jones you hack. Glad to see we got no pitching today.
  23. this is exciting, we get Carlos who can't throw strikes, except right down the middle.
