How bout we blame our "sure thing" closer who gave up two hits before the Piazza round tripper. Sure, I didn't agree with Dusty having Hairston SAC the runner to third in the 8th or Barrett not pitch hitting for Blanco, but we still had a two-run lead at that point. This lost is on DEMPSTER having A, AS IN ONE, bad outing. Don't you agree that it would have been smart for Dusty to be putting Dempster in for some innings in non-save situations to keep him sharp? You mean like the 3 in the last 6 days, one every 2 days? This being his 2nd day in a row of use?
