Taillon has 2 more starts he can make and Boyd has one or two if they let him start the last game against the Cardinals (probably wont). So, if he doesn't make that last start, that'll give him 9 days off until game 3 of WC playoffs. Maybe that'll help him Taillon is making a case to get that start, especially if he finishes strong in his next 2 starts and if Boyd struggles against the Mets, but im going to guess Counsell will lean on Boyd for that start with Taillon ready if needed early.

Crazy how teams can bang a bunch of hits and runs in the first inning or two and then cant seem to do anything afterwards. It's like watching 2 different games in one

I know a couple disagreed with me on this but I just think Taillon might get that 3rd game if necessary over Boyd. Boyd isnt close to what hes been these last 6 starts combined

Wasn't diminishing their year, just saying despite the Brewers crazy run, they still had an opportunity to cut into this 5 game lead they have on them. They were 5 back after they swept the Angels, the Brewers went into a bit of a tail spin after the cubs series and went 5-7 before sweeping the Pirates, but the cubs didn't take advantage cause they got swept by the Giants and ended up going 5-8 themselves during that span. So, was just saying despite the Brewers crazy run, the Cubs still had an opportunity to catch them but couldn't take advantage of the Brewers losing 7 of 12.

I think he'll need to play by the last 3 games in order to be on WC roster. Only problem with him missing another week if hes still not ready by then is that he'll be very rusty as far as game shape goes and theres nowhere for him to play to get some live game action before the NLDS.

Dodgers nope, and the Brewers, sucks that they went off and played like the 27 Yankees for 2 months, but the cubs still had an opportunity to get the lead back but was stuck on playing 500 ball for a bit. Hopefully they get to meet up in the next round and the cubs can handle buisness then.

Nope, those are your bench choices.. My question was just that since the bench isn't really called upon much now with the DH, could they just go with a couple speed guys like Castro and Hamilton along with a Catcher and RH bat (Turner) if Counsell sits Busch against a lefty starter? If they choose a 5 man bench then guessing it'll be between McGuire LH Ballesteros LH or Santana SH 🤷♂️

Yea, maybe Counsell just sticks with his regular 4 guys in Amaya McGuire Turner and Castro and if Amaya cant go then maybe Ballesteros or Santana if he wants a SH over a LHer.

When asked, Counsell mentioned that for Amaya to get considered being on the postseason roster he will have to get ABs, so that the only reason why I think he'll be added. Like I said i know the bench is somewhat meaningless in the playoffs now, thats why I was wondering and asking if maybe they'll add Hamilton to that roster just for his speed since baserunning will be mostly what the bench could be used for late in games. Catcher, a power bat, and 2 guys who can run which could be Castro and Hamilton 🤷♂️

Magic number is 1 over SF Cin AZ Reds are losing, AZ and SF just starting Magic number is 8 over Padres Padres are losing Im good with them needing to get a W tomorrow to clinch, makes it a fun watch this way. Doing it in Pittsburgh will bring memory of Harry's call in 1984 "Cubs are champions Cubs are champions " lol
