Olney mentioned on his podcast today that there is speculation within baseball that Roberts and Maddon could be gone if they get bounced early. Regardless of tonight's outcome, I still find it hard to believe the Cubs would fire a guy 2 years removed from a World Series title and in the middle of a 4 year playoff run. The only way it happens is if the rift between him and the front offense is irreconcilable.He has 1 year left on deal, if there no interest in extending him, probably would be the best time to bump him and get someone else in now.. Girardi said he wants to manage again
