I bet Shaw will be back for the Pirates series, theyre definitely going to work on something in Iowa for a couple weeks. there's no way they're going to go with Berti, Workman, and or Turner at 3B for any time longer then that.

Cubs are probably ok with going with a 4 man rotation ( Taillon Imanaga Boyd Brown) until the Milwaukee series May 2-4) because they'll have 4 days off over the next 14 games which will give every starter 4 days rest between starts. Assad is starting his rehab assignment so he could be ready to go on May 4th when they'll need the 5th starter.

Theyre an old team offensively, talented but baseball old. 12 of 14 hitters are 30 or older, injuries and wear n tear gonna catch up to them eventually

They pretty much have to ride with him now without having a true replacement for him, even in Iowa.

That the big risk with having your backup catcher as the DH, if the starter gets hurt early then you lose the DH, and the pitcher is hitting.

You knew it was a matter of time Dodgers was gonna score, the big concern here is if the Cubs were gonna be able to push one across.

Never is a minimal stay, maybe this could be a blessing and force Hoyer/Ricketts to make a move sooner rather then later for a quality starter. Hopefully Steele will be back before June
