  1. Wow, our guy Sal Romano got the win. He's helped us twice in the past week.
  2. Yeah, that's kinda like a day off. And the ball travels well in Arizona, right? Maybe we'll even see multiple dongs.
  3. It looked good off the bat on TV too. Ah well. I have to admit I didn't see it. Running some errands today. Sorry, Zach!
  4. You sure it wasn't because he knew they'd score on a sac fly? If that's his normal call for a fifth inning sac fly when we're trailing by two then he needs to lay off the caffeine.
  5. I want to murder Zach Zaidman. He got so excited by Almora's sac fly, I thought for sure it was a homer.
  6. Heyward's activated off the DL, could pinch hit today.
  7. The DBacks are 4-9 this month, 7-12 their last 19 and in full meltdown mode. The Cubs SHOULD be able to figure it out and win that series, but I swear it seems like going to Arizona ends up in a horsefeathers series for the Cubs more often than not, regardless of how well either team was doing going into it. Someone crunch the numbers on that. Either way, I always automatically hate it when they go to Arizona because of the late start times and their dumb stadium for jerks. We actually won the series in Arizona in 2016 and 2017. I'm too lazy to look it up but I just happened to remember those two.
  8. This would be awesome. They let the Cubs do it one time last year, so maybe...? Also I know for a fact the Cubs got approval from the city for ten concerts this year but then only hosted nine. They should use that when they ask for an extra night game, especially as an average Cubs night game draws less people to the neighborhood and makes a lot less noise than a concert.
  9. they only need to tie through 162 to force a playoff game for the division though I thought they would only do the play-in game if it made the difference between October or going home early. If the Cubs and Brewers finish tied one of them would almost certainly have the wild card so I think they'd decide the division based on head-to-head record, right?
  10. If MLB is so adamant about getting it in, then a neutral site or Wrigley makes the most sense. If they play that game in Milwaukee I wonder how many Brewers fans would show up just to troll us?
  11. I am sick to my stomach. We are honestly getting screwed.
  12. Then my follow-up question... if playing this game in October is a possibility why can't they send the Cubs back to Chicago already? What are they waiting for?
  13. So I just saw on MLB Network that today's Marlins/Pirates game has been postponed and rescheduled for October 1st. There is virtually zero chance that game will matter for either team. My question is... if they'll reschedule that horsefeathers and make them play a meaningless October game... would they do the same to the Cubs? Assuming the Cubs have their position clinched would MLB still make them go back to D.C. for one game before the playoffs?
  14. I feel like I need a day off just as much as this team does.
  15. Cards lose on a bases loaded wild pitch! Hahahahaha
  16. Please please please put up a crooked number in the top of the first so I can feel better about life, the universe and everything.
  17. Giants have Bumgarner going tomorrow. It would be nice if they could win that one, at least.
  18. To my untrained eye it seems the Cardinals have the toughest remaining schedule of the teams in the Central. They still have the Dodgers, Braves, Brewers and Cubs.
  19. I'd be okay with Joe resting all the starters in Game 1. The guys need a rest and it's unlikely we'd win anyways considering the pitching match-up.
  20. Normally rainouts make me sad but the Cubs haven't had a day off in over two weeks, so bring on the rain.
