I don't know what kind of update they could have given. Anyone who was at the park and knows anything about baseball should have known the game wouldn't start until the lights got fixed. They had ComEd trucks lined up all down the street trying to get the lights back on.
They also had the walk off wild pitch in August 2007 against the Phillies that got them to first place for the first time all season. I still remember Len's call of that one. "Cubs win! The FIRST PLACE Cubs win!"
I find that I'm much more comfortable with the outcome of this game if I refer to the Giants starter as Blatch. Like surely no one named Blatch could be any good.
Exactly how I feel about the Davis HR. It was actually the first time in my entire life that I let that nonsense into my head and it was basically immediately erased. During the rain delay my friend and I left the bar we were in and just kinda wandered the neighborhood. I'll never forget telling him, "If the Cubs really are cursed, they've already done as good as they can possibly do... so it's whatever." But deep down I really wanted to sit down and cry.
