Yeah, you have to hit Schwarber there. You need a HR and he's easily the best bet available. Maddon has been brutal lately. I almost don't want these asshats to make the playoffs for being so frustratingly mediocre.

I understand the frustration. Frankly, I agree with those that say the Brewers and Cardinals aren't very good. And therein lies the frustration. This shouldn't be this hard. I flat out think the Cubs aren't as good as they should be. That happens in baseball. But the last two seasons have informed all our expectations for this season. And the team hasn't played up to those expectations. There's been a fe too many games like this. A few too many offensive droughts. But I'm still of the opinion that they'll overcome all this. And if they do, anything can happen in the playoffs. Christ, the eulogy I wrote for my grandpa wasn't much longer than that. See what you've done, Cubs?

Yeah, bringing Grimm in, there, is a real head scratcher. The short leash for Monty, was clearly Joe not wanting to let the game get away, so why bring in that arsonist? It's like they won't be happy until they make a playoff team as unenjoyable as possible.

That's where I'm at. Losing two of three to the Phillies certainly isn't ideal. But if someone had told me, at the break, that by late August, the Cubs would be three games up in the division, I'd have been ecstatic. -
