  1. What an annoying game. Still pissed at Nico for not walking. That would have been the end of his night. Now theyre getting to our ace again.
  2. 3B are pretty scarce. I'd include Horton but try to hold onto Shaw.
  3. They probably give up a guy like that if they get another MLB piece along with Suarez
  4. Shaw says it was his idea to open his stance lol How Cubs' Matt Shaw used faith, stance change to embark on hot streak | Chicago Cubs News https://share.google/VjRuPRptDc7OopPrv
  5. Thats a big duh for me. 3B are scarce and theres one having a monster year. He makes sense for just about every winning team.
  6. The Cubs let 2 very good LHP mashers go to other teams already in Grichuk and Rosario. Rosario would have been a really good addition to the bench/10th man.
  7. I am not confident enough in Horton, or Taillon staying healthy and effective, for that matter, to make the only rotation move be Alcantara. That is too much of a gamble. I think it would be a mistake to take Taillon for granted. I really believe they need to get a guy they can expect to slot right into a playoff rotation without concern. Horton and Taillon give me major pause.
  8. Those homers by Benintendi were served on a platters. Absolute meatballs.
  9. The thing about Wicks is that according to stuff+, 4 of his pitches are above average, 3 of them are 110+. I'd think teams would be very interested in him.
  10. Shaw has done what hes done in the 2nd half (331 wRC+, 2nd to Kurtz among players with 20 PA in the 2nd half) with a 96.9 contact% lol wut
  11. 316/389/786 since 5/13, 212 PA. Jesus.
  12. His double was a HR in several parks as well. That thing was demolished. That kid is ridiculous.
  13. He debuted 4/23 and hit his first HR on 5/13. His stats from that point are insane.
  14. Jed might want to get 3 SP because I dont even know if we can count on Taillon much. If Horton is going to the pen we have 2 viable SP. Taillon is a wild card.
  15. The Cubs love contact managers. I egit think they prefer barrel-missers over bat-missers. I'm trying to keep even keel. The division is right there and we know Jed is gonna add several pieces to shore up the team. But this sucks. They've played some really bad baseball lately. Tucker and Seiya have to start mashing again. Theres no reason to panic but it is really annoying right now.
  16. The Sox have been mashing for the last week so im really not surprised but some of these pitches were absolute meatballs.
  17. Now compare their baseball Savant pages
  18. Pipeline lists Konnor Griffin, number 9 overall pick last year, as baseball's top prospect this year. Pirates have 2 top 5 prospectson that list.
  19. Interesting article on sprint speed and how Buxton and Turner reign supreme still somehow despite many players dramatically declining over the years. Much has changed in 10 years. MLB's fastest players haven't https://share.google/AT1V4GsY5ScAgotcR Did anyone know Betts is now 37th percentile? We think Happ's decline is notable, but that seems insane to me.
