  1. That was it. Only 52 pitches. Very nice.
  2. All Willy had to do was poke that pitch to RF and we'd have had a big inning. well that or he could have not called the hit and run and willy could've taken his walk and then it'd be a tie game after the montero single (yes i know that scenario could/would have change pitch calls, etc. but you know what i mean) I think his foresight was on point. We will have to end it there.
  3. All Willy had to do was poke that pitch to RF and we'd have had a big inning.
  4. Right shoulder discomfort... great, he will probably hit the DL right in the midst of a hot streak
  5. That's what Len is saying but no idea what happened.
  6. Pretty much the way he throws every time from 3B
  7. Several really poorly located pitches in that inning.
  8. Need a good seal gif for that catch by Tommy. Had to be 110 exit velo.
  9. I've been on the Cahill/Hand wagon for about a month. If Trevor proves healthy I think he's a perfect fit. Tons of grounders and whiffs and in the playoffs he could be our long guy, unless they actually leave Lackey off the PS roster, which I'm not sold they will (pitching better, experienced, loyalty). I really dont think they wish to deal Eloy or Cease so I'm thinking they will scour that secondary market at the deadline.
  10. Happ's kind of ridiculous. His wOBA is higher (390 vs 384) vs LHP than RHP after this tear he's been on. June 13th he broke a little 0-12 stretch - since then he's had 2 games without an XBH and pretty much posted a 500 wOBA with a 25% K rate.
  11. It didn't get any better, 4IP & 8ER. Awful start, but I don't understand the "again" reference?!? He hasn't had a game like this the entire year; I don't know if he had a game like this last year, either. Yeah, I may be being a bit tough on him. But, I was expecting him to grow into a consensus top 100 type and his walks are up quite a bit from last year. K's are down some too. He's definitely not gained value from where he was at the end of last year. He's shown some pitchability to minimize damage this season but his year has been very disappointing so far.
  12. Myrtle has a hell of a pitching staff
  13. Obviously let things play out, see if the recent surge from Russell can continue, or if Zo or Kyle come back stronger than ever, but as it stands, this team has 2 above average hitters and a rookie enjoying a lot of early success. The young guys have been so up and down. I'd love to have another 120+ wRC+ bat in the lineup. For the sake of curiosity, what would you guys expect Maybin to cost?
  14. True, I know that they loved Monty's curve and change. I'd love to get a look at their list of pitchers of that kind. We know they are all-aboard the curveball right now and I could see them targeting a fungible pitcher with a nasty one.
  15. Ok then. I still feel we could use another consistent bat.
  16. I've liked Maybin for a long time, but I have a hard time seeing the need for a position player unless they trade significant assets from the MLB roster(probably at least 2 players) in order to get a SP. Well this is my crazy scenario and it would squeeze Al out some but also provide insurance for if Kyle doesn't come back a changed man, so to speak. I am excited about what Al has done so far but more time in Iowa wouldn't hurt and Maybin is again getting on base at a super sweet clip. He would be able to play all over the OF. I know it's crazy but I would try to see about getting Fedde+ for Wade and Hector. The Nats need relievers bad or they will waste a prime season from their lineup and rotation. I would slot CJ in the closer spot and have Koji/Pedro/Dunce get the lion's share of the bridge work. I know that we can offer Wade a QO after the season but if we could hypothetically land a future rotation cornerstone for his services I think it's a worthwhile move. It would absolutely blow any deal we could have made for Soler, out of the water, IMO. Nats are gonna be bent over a barrel by somebody. Let it be us.
  17. Thoughts on what it would cost to acquire Maybin if the Angels fall out and shop him?
