  1. He knew that 0-2 pitch was a ball but he didn't let the horsefeathering ump ruin it so he protected on a clearly shitty pitch and beat them immediately after. Love it.
  2. Give it up for Willy. What a horsefeathering gangster.
  3. Looking at pitch values by team offense The Astros are absolutely insane. We all know that. But they hit fastballs twice as well as the Nats, who are in 2nd, they have no pitches on which they're producing negatively, and they also crush sliders and curves, sitting around the top of the league. That horsefeathering offense is unreal.
  4. If we're getting a version close to how Willy was in Iowa, holy horsefeathers
  5. I have to tread lightly. Because of my past comments, people think I want us to just jettison him. Not even close to the case. I recognize that he is our best hitter and I'll reiterate my desire to sign him to a lifetime contract with the Cubs. I only asked when the last time he had a hit that high on the LI was, and only after the responses that ensued, did I actually go to look up the stats myself. That was the first time I looked at a HLS stat since that FG article last year, believe it or not. Simply by memory I knew they had not come often. But he's still my favorite player and it doesn't sour me on him, nor do I slam him after every time he doesn't come through in those situations. I don't expect him to be amazing in those times, but at least hope that he'd be quite a bit better than he's been. I guess I'll leave it at that. The samples are always going to be too small to judge but they are all we have, and they've been a little lighter than I would expect. With KB this year though, I was excited early on because it seemed like he was regaining his oppo stroke, and that disappeared again. There's been a lot of swings where's he's too far out in front and hits weak dribblers or pop ups. He's not really turning on the inside fastball as much as he did last year and pitchers are growing a bit more comfortable to challenge him there. His eye at the plate has been really good, though, and he's a hot week from having the same wRC+ as he did last year. So, he's not far off at all. Another thing is he hit a quarter of his dongs off the Reds last year and had that one month where he hit like 400 or whatever. So maybe this year isn't much different at all. Should I mention again that I don't want to cut him?
  6. Kelli stole his 41st bag (80% efficiency). 2nd place in the league has 23.
  7. Braves stopped the Dodgers from posting their 3rd double digit win streak of the season
  8. Threw 93 pitches (69 strikes) to 29 batters, got 9 GO (although 2 were on consecutive bunt outs to start the 5th), and allowed the run in the 1st and went on to throw 5 more shutout innings. Good job of limiting the damage.
  9. Found a link that said maybe it had to do with the push notification settings so I turned those off. I hope it helped. Not trying to be a problem.
  10. Take the hint, Aaron
  11. It's so much easier to browse multiple forums quickly on mobile though
  12. Speaking of hitting lefties, whatever Rizzo did a few years back to start crushing them, I want him to put Kyle on that same program. This dude's too good to be a platoon player.
  13. Could be. Just happened again with that post though. Sorry, I'm looking around in settings to see if I can cease this, but I don't see anything.
  14. I had no idea I was Ok. We get approval requests when someone tries to post anonymously...and it seems like it happens reasonably often that there will be a request, with a post, and then right afterwards is you posting something exactly the same or extremely similar, so I thought maybe you were doing something accidentally and then correcting it. Is this a Tapatalk issue possibly then?
  15. Off topic question, but how do you keep accidentally submitting posts as Anonymous? I had no idea I was
  16. So those numbers are above and below league average or something? Is that how you get negative marks in movement? No. That's in inches, but not factoring in gravity. Interestingly, Hector has been increasing in velocity and movement. He fluctuates back and forth. More speed; less movement. Also he'll have his vertical and horizontal movement flip-flip some from time to time. So it will act as more like a curveball and drop more sometimes. And other times it will be more side-to-side and break further. But, right now, he's getting the same movement he has when it's about 85, except it's at 87. I see. Thanks for the explanation.
  17. 282/352/512 as a team post-break 121 wRC+ leads the NL and 4.7 position player war leads the ML
  18. So those numbers are above and below league average or something? Is that how you get negative marks in movement?
  19. Speaking of strikeouts, Contreras is sitting at 15% for the 2nd half
  20. Injury to his throwing arm. Yeah just saw. That sucks.
