  1. Fernando Kelli has slowed down a little lately but I was wondering if he had any shot of being promoted this season
  2. Still disappointed we couldn't hit Manuel Gonzalez but we are definitely playing like a playoff team now. Love what I'm seeing day in and day out.
  3. Still holding LHH to a 275 wOBA and should come relatively cheap with the season he's had. Not surprised they're interested.
  4. Yeah Clifton recorded 3 outs and allowed 6 hits and 5 runs. Rucker with a human start 5 IP 2 ER 4:2, only threw 41 pitches.
  5. Gotta start hammering those outside pitches to LF consistently
  6. Jake is dancing with no-hitters again. I started to feel like he was gonna throw another one tonight.
  7. I'm amazed at how much this got under your skin. You do this every game. Just let it go.
  8. I was thinking it hit him in the chest or the throat. horsefeathering kid got obliterated.
  9. Fun fact: Bartolo Colon has faced both Bellingers in the big leagues. Funner Fact: Storm Davis faced Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. in the same inning! The Griffey's went back to back against Kirk McKaskill. That's probably not something that will ever happen again.
  10. So much better than Canseco's. Jose was a couple feet from the wall, this dude hadn't even hit the track yet lol Also those comments are on point, same thing I thought: his swing is just like Bellinger's.
  11. Rotation has a 2.48 ERA in 2nd half. The first inning ERA is even better. And over Jake's last 12 starts, he has a 3.25 with 4 FIP which isn't great but much better than early on. Feeling really good about shutting these ho's down.
  12. Bad things happen when you groove first pitch fastballs, John. The whole league knows they're coming.
  13. I go to one or two Cubs games a year when they come to L.A. and they lose just about every time. Saw Prior in 03 and he of course threw a CG for the win.
  14. These trades this season have been odd Before the season if we proposed a deal to get Quintana, we thought it would have to be Schwarber+, but if somebody suggested Eloy and Cease+, there was no way anybody would have proposed somebody in the Rice and Flete realm to fill out the deal. Then you look at Martinez and it's one centerpiece and 2 back-end of the 30s types. I'd do that deal but I'm interested in hearing others thoughts as well. Those 3 in one fell swoop is my most desired move I think, taking all things into consideration.
  15. This is what I've been saying What would you guys expect the cost to be?
  16. I bet that's the largest jump in Oswing over 2 seasons you will find possibly ever. That's absolutely crazy. And for a guy right in his prime, not past it. He basically said, horsefeathers it, I'm not letting so many possibly hittable pitches go by this year, and ended up with the same results LOL Good stuff Shoot, sorry, you actually said it's the most extreme shift in PD since they started tracking it. This is fascinating.
  17. It's obviously a longshot but I also feel the possibility is there to acquire JV for the next year and a half and pay 10m or so after 2018 to flip him and clear more room for FA. Just a thought.
  18. I'm guessing the Tigers would want to pay at least some of it to acquire a couple prospects. I think that's the only way to really allow themselves to tell their fan base that they traded Verlander. Regardless of what he is now (which still seems very good), he's a legend there. Just basically "selling" him couldn't go over well. But, I mean, if the Tigers paid some of it... would we really care about giving up a couple of these prospects to get Verlander? But yeah this is what was so great about the value of the Quintana deal is it allows something like this (especially with all the money coming off the books). Fwiw, Crasnick says the Brewers want Kinsler and that Detroit would prefer to package Wilson with him and get salary relief over the better prospect package. I think the reason we are linked so heavily with Detroit is that we can easily see their asking price and not harm the short or future outlook at all. I also think they would like to have Candy and Zagunis so they can plug them right in as they retool.
  19. I'm kind of really thrilled with taking a pitcher in the 11th round who barely started in college (low mileage) and having him run a 2.5 FIP as a starter in his first 1/3 of a full season. 4 pitches he can command - we need more guys like that right now, IMO.
  20. Jose Altuve is hitting 450/500/700 over his last 150 PA
  21. Almora vs the LHP was the biggest no brainer in the history of mankind
