  1. I'm guessing it was just a matter of him being the freshest arm available with how shredded the pen is after yesterday. Although he has incredible numbers at Iowa (only 6 innings) so maybe he has been showing something? I didn't even look at his numbers until now, nor the list of pitchers potentially available. But damn that looks like a potential multi inning weapon if he keeps throwing strikes like that.
  2. Nice defensive assignment with a double play machine at the plate Kyle deserved a SHO
  3. Theres been mentions of about 30 or 40 pitchers in our system this off-season and I dont remember hearing a single thing about this guy. Boooooring.
  4. Tweet has been deleted. Pink hat guy passed away
  5. I like that play by Happ. Aggressive but calculated.
  6. KB is really challenging to become the 2nd Cubs player ever to hit 100 XBH in a season. Sammy did it in 01 with 103. D-Lee fell one shy in his magical 05 season. Sosa's 01 also fell just shy of a 10 fwar season, ending at 9.9., sadly. KBs currently rocking a 185 wRC+. Lee had a 170 that year, and Sosa has KB beat by 1 point right now at 186. I believe that's also the team record. Quite a contract year for KB.
  7. Feels like Jenkins will get a C sooner than later in his Bears career. Fields is obvious. But Jenkins has leader written all over him. He's gonna be a fan favorite.
  8. Putrid opening on the farm except for Amaya and Sanders
  9. Our entire organization has 3 hits in 16 innings tonight
  10. It's a little much to supposedly buy in and then duck out after a week of games Also also the LEAGUE K rate right now is 31% and pitchers in the league on average are more than half a year older than the average hitter (22 YO v 21.4). Howard's one of the 5 or so youngest players in the league, didn't play any official games last year Those blasted pitching labs are ruining baseball. We think it's bad in MLB and the rate is a whopping 25% lower. That's nuts.
  11. I watched his last start and he was garbage. His fb sat about 92-93 and it was in the middle of the plate quite a lot. I thought he had more velo than that.
  12. Damn, Leno gets only 5 mil from WFT. Great value.
  13. Wish we could jettison Heyward. Its incredible to me that he's playing his 6th season with us. Well, 5 legit seasons, and all of them absolutely terrible offensively. The guy can only sort of hit fastballs sometimes; any other pitch and he's toast. Even his launch angle improvement from last year appears to be a mirage. These injuries are killing us. I can't take anymore Vargas. This team is good enough to play above 500 ball, maybe get enough favorable bounces to win high 80s. But they have some real anchors getting too much PT. And LOL @ trading for a guy who hasn't played MLB in 2 years and was last seen putting up -1.3 fwar in only 50 games, who's now 30 years old. Get us some horsefeathering legit OF for fuxache.
  14. Is the "fleeing from the cops" thing confirmed? It feels like if he was fleeing from the cops, he wouldn't have been missing for 3 days. Wouldn't the cops have found him? Well I guess I should have said "allegedly". I was just going off of this initial tweet
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] One of the best plays I've ever seen a pitcher make
  16. Tarik Cohen's twin brother found dead after apparently fleeing from the cops and climbing some equipment which electrocuted him. As a father of twins, I take great delight in seeing the symbiosis between my children and I cannot imagine how they would get on without the other if a tragedy were to occur. Painful just to think about.
  17. 9th game against PIT and we've scored 5+ runs in only one of those games. Why are we suddenly letting them Brewer BABIP us to death
  18. Yeah, that was brutal. Yeah, his injury was devastating. He was still good in 2004. Not as great as his peak years, but, something I didn't pay attention to back then, he was already 30 years old. His decline should have been expected. 99-2000 he was probably on horsefeathers anyway.
  19. Wade Miley notches the 4rh no hitter of the season and Sean Manaea is 7 outs away from another. This is out of control lol
  20. The last 2 games were the horsefeathers. TWTW baby
  21. He horsefeathering did it [expletive] this was a fun series!
  22. I can't take Mills anymore. We have plenty of more interesting guys. Call one of em up.
