  1. Damn that 3-1 was down the pipe and the payoff pitch was an easy slap into RF
  2. Hasn’t Madrigal came up with guy(s) on base in all 3 ABs? He has. I mean there's not really a great place to put him in my eyes because I'm not a fan of his approach. He just doesn't work good ABs. Boy did Chavez suck the air out of the stadium.
  3. It's not really irrational. He swings too much.
  4. I would not have Madrigal at the top of the order. Bat him like 6th or 7th behind the guys that will actually work good ABs and get on base frequently.
  5. I know they're in the playoffs so this is a bit different but this season is now right up there with the 04 Cubs and the 12 Bears for me. Could not be any less excited about a playoff berth. They're lifeless.
  6. Have the Padres SP set a record? 13 IP this season and no hits allowed between Yu and Manaea lol
  7. Hayes left the game in the first inning of his new 8 year deal with Pittsburgh
  8. What the horsefeathers
  9. I've only been able to watch a handful of games and I haven't seen a single win lol But what I do see is so ugly. Teams know exactly what we are trying to do, what spot DeRozan is trying to get to, that Vuc is going to put up a shot immediately after he receives the ball in the post and not get any closer to the basket, etc. You can see their preparation in their anticipation, how they jump the pass lane before we even see it. There's no fluidity to the offense, rarely more than 2-3 passes before we just give up and chuck it. Then on defense it is straight up like men vs boys, giving up nothing but high% shots and uncontested 3s. They might know where Demar is going, but he was 16-26 with 40 points. Demar wasn’t stopped. Vuj was the problem. 3-19 and let Lopez get 28. Yeah well I posted that in the 2nd qtr I believe but I wasn't just talking about that game anyway. But agree that Vuc had yet another atrocious game. The paint is a free-for-all when he's on the floor. It's ridiculous.
  10. Roberts reportedly sat 93 last year. If he's sitting 95 now that levels up his ceiling considerably. In terms of stuff you're looking at a profile like Ryan Pressly, a legitimate 1st division closer. He also started throwing a slider this year and was taught it by the Yankees pitching guy we hired away, Moskos or something like that. Seems like there’s potentially a slider revolution coming, lots of guys allegedly picking one up this offseason. See if Heyward can even put one into play

  12. Nwogu looked like Pedro Cerrano on that dong
  13. Lonzo shut down. horsefeathers this horsefeathers.
  14. Totally expecting Harold Ramirez to push a 150 wRC+ this year
  15. Tiger at +5000 doesn't seem like a total suckers bet. I mean, it's horsefeathering Tiger. I'll throw a dub at it.
  16. We could have gotten Austin Meadows?!
  17. Damn feels like I'm watching the Bulls in the 2nd half here. KU just erased a pretty big halftime deficit in a matter of minutes. We got a game again.
  18. I'm calling it: Madrigal hits more HR than Nico
  19. I read about this last week from the Rangers camp and what immediately came to mind from that term was Carlos Marmol. Apparently Jon Gray and Dane Dunning are names to watch that have taken to it immediately.
  20. Yeah just a gut feeling but I think Rodriguez didn't show up to camp in the shape they had hoped he would have. Before the season I would have figured he was practically a lock with his electric stuff but they barely even used him.
  21. Wick is a lock for the major league pen and probably a setup role, did you mean someone else? Abbott is a starter who hasn't been able to prevent damage at AAA and doesn't throw all that hard, so he's not a surprise to not get a serious look at the MLB pen with this many options of interest. Rodriguez hasn't been optioned that I can see so he may still get another appearance or two. The only players with 5+ appearances are Effross(pitching very well), Rucker(also pitching very well), and Yardley(NRI they're getting a good look at) so it's not all that disproportionate. I meant Wick. His walk rate exploded last year and I would just figure they'd want him to have more than 2-3 tune-ups before the season starts. And I know what Abbott did last year but he did get screwed out of a year of development following his org MiLB POY designation in 2019. He has a stronger track record than Keegan Thompson but he was really bad last year for sure. Seems like a guy that should have been facing more ML hitters than he did before he was optioned; not necessarily in the pen but in general.
  22. I'm curious to know which players, besides Villar, whom was mentioned specifically, showed up to camp looking like they hadn't been in a gym, or had begun ramping up their baseball activities. To me it's a little curious that a guy with Rodriguez' stuff has only 3 appearances and is ticketed for Iowa. Same with Wick and Abbott, whom feels like the type of fungible arm they need. They've barely pitched.
